“Dancing in the street” (cont’d from “Wisteria”) Location: TELLESIA IV Scene: Greeting area Stardate: 2.70306.1037 TI: straight after my last post. Xana blinked and then shrugged, “we’re about to find out.” Gene watched as a leader walked towards them. He bowed from the waist and introduced himself. “I am third governor Setra welcome to our home.” He turned slightly as he rose to look at the half Bolian Ambassador for EARTH, “Ambassador Bonviva it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance and we thank you deeply for travelling all this way.” Xana blinked and then bowed slightly in response. “It was no hardship; I look forward to discussing our relationship more fully.” She answered formally. Gene smiled slightly as the body twisted towards him, “and thank you for coming Commander McInnis, we hope you find our humble home and family acceptable to join the greater family that is the federation.” Gene nodded his head, “I hope so too.” “If you would all like to follow me, we have prepared a celebration for our guests.” Gene indicated with a gesture for the other officers to fall in behind him as they started walking, they crossed a small canal and Xana looked down to see a shape disappearing fast in the water, “as you can see, we live in harmony with our brethren under the oceans, we have made many concessions to make their life in the capital easier, they have fortunately done the same for us and are looking forwards to seeing you in their own capital city.” Xana smiled slightly. “All the canals remind me of home.” She grinned at Gene as the two walked along behind their guide “do you have any boats?” Gene silently groaned and rolled his eyes, he glanced briefly over his shoulder to see the land bound race closing in behind his people. Eilean and Hannibal where on opposite sides of the group both on high alert, he nodded at Hannibal and then turned back to the conversation. “Everything that is ours is of course open to you.” The voice concluded and then started up again, “we understand your commander is pregnant and therefore her reluctance to land on a strange planet is understandable. We hope that you will pass her our regards and reassure her that all is perfectly safe.” Xana raised a slight eyebrow and glanced at Gene who answered with a smile. “Commander Gorman is simply remaining on the ship for security purposes, we need to make sure things are secure before we can even consider allowing all the bridge crew to land on a planet,” Their guide seemed to nod and then paused at an intersection they had left the canals behind by now but along the sides of some of the buildings tubes ran nothing moved in them at the moment but they seemed big enough to just about fit a humanoid. Xana was taking this in with wide eyes wondering just how much the aquatic life form and the land walking life form actually did together, suddenly their guide began walking again and then entered a large square. “Or town square,” the guide offered he pointed to a large building over the way, “our government building, you have rooms there for tonight.” Gene nodded glancing up briefly he took in the sheer size of the building it took over one whole side of the square, then his gaze moved back to the square, it was full of tables laden with food, banners welcoming them were strung from one side to the other. Gene glanced around noticing a lack of chairs with the table. And then he realised the food and tables where only around the outside in the centre of the square was a large open area. Their guide made a gesture and each of the Starfleet officers and Xana’s team suddenly had a guide of their own. “Feel free to mingle, food is at your disposal and later their will be music, tonight is for celebrating, work can wait till the morning.” Gene blinked slightly and glanced up at the sun beating in the sky. “You realise its midday.” He offered to the Tellesian. “You’ve never been to a party on Telleran IV” he said, his voice came sounding almost amused he indicated for the Starfleet Officer to lead the way into the festivities. ** NRPG: I’m sorry for my silence unfortunately looking for a job is taking up most of my free time, I will endeavour to be more active over the next few weeks.
