==[/\]=="Unexpected"Continued from Kenneth’s "Peldar Joi!"==[/\]==Location: Aurora-Class Fighter
Scene: Cockpit
Stardate: 2.70513.0100

His blood was pumping at a rate unlike anything he had ever felt. The rush was incredible. Then it happened. Every display and dial went blank and dark. It was darkness followed by a mad rush of light, a sight unseen in decades. The golden bath of light pushed forward from the terminus of the wormhole, like water bursting forward from a faucet. Everything in its path was covered.

Instinctively Nick’s hands went up to cover his eyes, even though his helmet visor already supposedly protected them. The sound that burst from his mouth must have been a great yell or scream, but it barely registered to him. The shock had him.

The great flood of light covered the small fighter craft first, and then it grabbed him. In mere moments he was covered in it’s golden bath. As it took him, it was as if the craft were gone, that his flight suit was gone, and that he was floating within the light of the wormhole itself.

Location: Unknown
Scene: Beach

He was awash in light, tinted with in a bright, almost golden, glow. It was as if he were home with the wind at his back, the smell of tropical seas as he inhaled, and the lap of waves upon the unceasing miles of white, sand covered beaches. He was home. Nick felt a wave that felt like joy, happiness, and peace in one hit him.

"They seek to destroy this," came a familiar voice from behind him.

Nick blinked; a very non-pregnant Kat Potter-Gorman spoke to him as he stood on the beach. "Who seeks to destroy this? Where is this, this looks like Risa, but…"

Another voice joined that of the XO. "The time is coming. They are coming," was the chant of the seemingly glowing Ronnie Zanders.

"Who…what…"

Scene: Somewhere in the Station

Cannon was again awash in the glow, the feeling of peace and general happiness remained, but he felt something foreboding tugging at his soul.

It was as if he was not there, wherever there was. Within the room, it was bathed in light but still seemed dark, a Bajoran male skulked back and forth. He carried a blade of some odd type and carried what appeared to be a flap of something else.

Nick tried to place it but he was whisked away.

Scene: Beach
Hannibal O’Patterson, bathed in light, spoke. "They will bring hate. Sadness. Suffering."

The pilot turned in a full 360-degree circle, seeing the whole of the senior staff around him, surrounded by a golden glow. "Who are they? Why are they bringing this?"

It was the new science chief who spoke to his question, or rather around it. "Then it will come."

"What will come, what is it?" Cannon felt his internal peace slipping away and a sense of anxiousness settling in.

"They must be told," answered the figure that resembled Jeff Gorman.

Scene: Somewhere in the Station

He was whisked away by the light again, this time to somewhere else in the station. Cannon saw another Bajoran male. This one appeared to be younger than the previous one. But he was suffering from something, something that seemed to be causing him some great agony.

The anxiousness grew; the feeling of peace was gone. And then Nick Cannon felt a kind of strange dread within his inner being, a kind that he had never felt before.

Scene: Beach

It was as if he had never disappeared, as he was again surrounded on the beach by the senior leadership of the GATEWAY station. It was still Risa, but it did not feel like home.

"Tell them," stated a glowing Captain. He looked different, probably as Kane would have looked without the many injuries he had suffered while in the service.

"Tell who?!" asked Nick again. "Who is coming, what am I to tell them of, help me."

"Warn them, stop them." It was Gene McInnis this time.Nick felt the glow taking him again, the feeling of peace was returning, but the anxiousness and a sense of dread and mourning were also there. He was slipping away from the place, and felt the need to push back. But it would not stop, and all he could sense was one final word, stated by the harmony of voices he had just heard, "judgement."

Location: Aurora-Class Fighter
Scene: Cockpit

He awoke sluggishly. Slowly he became aware that his head was jarring around until he finally banged a panel with his helmet. Cannon’s eyes opened, the bright burst of light was fading away, dimming out as if it was a passing wave.

Outside of his small fighter craft, he noted the shimmering object hanging in space. The small orb turned a slow spiral, with glimmers of light shooting the dim reflection of the distant star. In the distance beyond, the wormhole seemed to be fully open again.

The lights and familiar hum of his craft roared back to life, and the crackle of the comm brought him fully back to awareness. [[ -pid! Cupid, report! Are you alright? Lieutenant!]]
Cannon pushed a button on the console before him. The blue light of the fighter’s small tractor beam leaped forward and grabbed the cylindrical object floating in space. The cylinder was pulled to his craft. Drawing his breath, Nick responded to the frenzied calls. "I’m alright. I’m alright, Tommy."

He was more than alright, he was reborn, he was whole.

NRPG: There’s the encounter…hopefully it lives up to the incredible lead-in it got from Jerome’s post.

Jerome: Does that fit the bill as a start?

Sarah: I have some ideas, they just didn’t fit in this post.

Rahul: I’m certain that Nick is going to be seeing the good doctor a few times.

Kenneth: Same as just stated.
