"Gene McInnis' Ghost Is Haunting Gateway Station 2"
Cont. from "Explosive Decisions of Unknowing Answers"

Location: GATEWAY
Stardate: 2.80114.1353
Scene: Counselor's Office

This wasn't good. This really wasn't good.

There weren't supposed to be ghosts on a space station.

Tam scrolled through the notes she'd taken on the people that she'd seen that morning. A few of them had come to her, some of them she'd had to track down to speak to, as she had reason to believe that they needed someone to talk to, and there had even been a few over the commlinks, as she was acting as counselor for both GATEWAY and the PATRIOT. But she'd been noticing a trend in some of the GATEWAY crew's comments that was out of the ordinary. Namely, that they had been seeing a crewmember that matched McInnis' description.

Of course, as with all ghost stories, there were different versions of it. Some of them had simply seen him rounding a corner or in a crowd, and others had actually been touched by or spoken to him, usually while injured. If it had been just one or two people, she would have passed it off as mistaken identity or hallucinations, but more and more of them were describing a Bajoran man in a medical uniform who disappeared immediately after the sighting or after providing assistance.

She had to report that Commander McInnis was haunting GATEWAY.

Scene: Ready Room
Time index: Half an hour later

Daisy watched Thomas leave the room. No sooner had he stepped out, though, than Jeff Gorman stepped in, looking both confused and angry. "Something wrong?" she asked, thinking that there was a lot that he could pick from. She wasn't expecting what he said, though.

"Someone's playing a sick joke."

"What?" **Actually, he looks more angry than anything else.** That was... different. He always seemed hard to ruffle, but now he was starting to pace.

"I've had crewmen telling me that they've seen Gene onboard. One even said that Gene had pulled him out from a pylon and called for help before taking off. I don't know what trick someone's playing, but it's bothering me. Why would they even do it?"

"Well, I..."

Daisy was interrupted by a chime at the door, and called for them to come in. It was the counselor from the PATRIOT, apparently rather unnerved. "Ma'am, I have some reports that you should see." She passed over a PADD and waited as Daisy scrolled through them.

Excerpts from sessions with crewman, all of them reporting seeing Gene McInnis-- and, in a couple of cases, other dead crew-- walking the decks or helping the wounded. Daisy looked up. "I think we have a problem."

NRPG: I left out Daisy's conversation with Thomas; I didn't want to step on any toes. Short, yes, and I'm sorry, but I wanted to get something out, and I'm trying to avoid fouling some of the plotlines that are already planned out.

Anyway... TAG!
