"Admiral, we are approaching Bajoran space"
"Very well, drop out of warp and head for the wormhole. Alert the 8th fleet
that we are here"
"They acknowledge our approach, and are parting the way to the wormhole."
"Take us in" Hathaway watched on the screen, an actual screen not one of those
new holo projections all modern starships were built with now, as the ship
glided itself amongst the fleet of starships occupying the system. Heyting had
told him a few days ago, that the Bajorans were relieved to have a show of
force at the wormhole to greet any dominion visitors.
The wormhole opened wide as the large, at one point in time the largest in the
fleet, but no longer, entered the rift. A few minutes later they exited the
other side after a smooth ride. "All stations yellow alert. We are now in
hostile territory." He ordered over the ships comn. The lighting on the bridge
dropped slightly and the alert indicators turned yellow with the hightened
state of readiness the starship entered. "Set course for GS2, warp-5"
"Estimated time of arrival, Gateway Station, 47 minutes present speed"
"Send gateway Operations our flight plan and request entry into security zone."

GS-2 – OPERATIONS

"Commander Davidson" Kor said walking over to her from the far console, which
handled the traffic entering and leaving Gateway's defensive perimeter.
"There's a starship coming in, eta, 40 minutes."
"Ok, and? We've had ships in and out for days."
"ID codes it as USS Alliance, the personal starship of Vice Admiral Nathan
Hathaway."
"Why do I know that name?" Daisy asked, trying to remember
"Its at the bottom of every filled order invoice that crosses your desk" Kor
reminded her. "He's the Chief of Starfleet Engineering."
"And he's coming here. No doubt he wants to see the damage for himself. Well
that’s good, maybe it will speed up supply requests."
"I will clear your schedual" Kor replied, walking away.

USS Alliance – 40 Minutes Later

"Approaching gateway"
"Slow to impulse, take a wide approach vector I want to see the damage out
here. Use sensors to record." The ship banked softly as it came around the
massive complex, the sensor palletes doing their task in recording the images
the Admiral requested. "Contact Gateway Operations, Have Commander Davidson,
and Colonel Maverick beam over. Have them escorted to the main briefing room."

Conference Room Deck 3

The admiral walked in, while the two officeres were standing looking out the
window. "Please have a seat. I supposed you’ve already guessed the reason I
have asked you two here today."
"The damage to the station" Daisy started
"And the Patriot" Mav finished
"Correct. Now I have seen both your reports, and im sorry I know you are both
out of your elements, but I want to tour both before we decide how best to go
about getting everything operational again. I designed the upgrades to the nova
Class personally, and I'd like to see how the station has fared and what
improvements could be made."
"Yes sir."
"Colonel, how about we meet up on the Patriot, before she is towed behind the
lines. I'd like to see what worked and didn’t for the next ship. How about
0600?"
"That’s fine Admiral."
"And Commander, how about we tour the station after lunch, say 1230 hours? It
will be a long day, so you might want a heavy meal."
"I'll be ready Admiral."
"Alright then, until tomorrow, dismissed"
