This small shop is located in a quiet area of the Promenade, and does not overtly solicit customers. Instead, the store has built up a select and regular clientele who come to buy or indulge in tobacco smoking, a habit frowned on by most people. There are tobaccos for sale from all over the galaxy - cigarettes, cigarillos, cigars, chewing tobaccos, and wrapped pipe tobaccos - from the most common backstreet brand to the airy delights of the highest-quality blends. There is a small smokehouse at the back for customers to sample prospective purchases.

A curious and devious teenager, LJ snuck away from his quarters and found his way to the Tobacco shop. Trying to keep a straight, innocent smile on his face, the boy carried a comm pad with a forged request for a case of cigarettes for his Foster Mom.

The woman behind the counter knew Daisy wasn't a fan of anyone smoking - since the Commander herself had met with the owner of the ship, Ali Mustafa Shahwaz, to insist all the tobacco products were treated to remove carcinogens and nicotine.

"Well, young man....we would need the Commander to come and pick up the bulk of her order in person...." Sheba began patiently.

Then, she gave him a sweet smile and said, "Why don't you take her this sample to encourage her to remember us and we'll try to have
her order ready for her first thing in the morning, hmm?"

LJ grinned and nodded as Sheba handed him a single untreated Cigar.

With a smug grin on his face, he turned on one foot and left the shop.

Wangel Erek took Gavirosh and Erika to Daisy's ready room to tell her that LJ had wandered off. Daisy was sitting calmly behind her desk with Erika on her lap as she got a message from sickbay.

[[ "Commander Davidson? Please report to sickbay. I have your Foster son. " ]]

Daisy gently put Erika on the floor and stood up. " Is he hurt, Dr. Poe?"

[[ "His pride, mostly." ]] Grace quipped.

Daisy rolled her eyes and groaned. "I'll be right there."

  Location: ANDARA,Elcar Village
Scene: outside the great hall

Each Village Eldar had a comm badge. Other than that, the only other piece of "modern" technology to be found in the entire village was known as "the Window", a television-like screen that, once a week, broadcast the latest news updates all over ANDARA. Aside from these two devices, the residents of Elcar (and many Andarans, for that matter) did not have much use for technology, preferring the old, tried-and-true way of life that had sustained them happily for centuries.

A resilient society, Andarans and Non-andarans alike were seated at long tables around the great hall. As was their routine, they innocently went ahead with their pre-broadcast feast. Families that had been affected by the recent outbreaks of violence were more subdued than usual, but obediently attended the traditional feast and broadcast. If any of them had noticed the strange letters that Mykel had noticed moments before his death at the hands of young Blin, they didn't show any signs of having remembered it.

Haxer had been the one to defy tradition, favoring time alone with his grassers to brood over Blin's fate over the weekly tradition.

The ship's arrival had snapped him out of his melancholy and back to practical thoughts about the needs of the village. By the time he'd rounded up the grassers and returned them to their barn, he knew the merchants would nearly have made it to the village on foot.

Haxer rushed across the village square and nearly toppled over into the arms of a Caitian.

He recoiled at first, surprised by the massive fur-covered Caitian hands. Then, he quickly mustered a polite smile.

"Welcome to our village. My name is Haxer."

Introductions were made all around and Eishnala noticed outloud, "Your village streets seem so quiet...."

"Most of the villagers are gathered in the great hall for the feast and the weely news broadcast....come with me." Haxer guided the members of the away team into the great hall. A few villagers rose to greet them and offered them seats at their table. Everyone
was friendly and then the "Window" came to life.

The Starfleet officers all turned politely and trustingly to watch the News Broadcast on the Window as, once again, strange letters began to dance across the bottom of the screen. There was a sound that accompanied the strange letters. The Andarans and most all
others seemed oblivious to it - except for Mowree and Eishnala.

As a hush fell over the great room and everyone else, including the rest of the away team, sat with their eyes glued to the screen, both Mowree and Eishnala were forced to rush from the building because the strange sound seemed to burn through their skulls. Mowree
gallantly rubbed his large hand or Caitian Paw in a gentle circle against the small of Eishnala's back as she doubled over and lost the
contents of her stomach on the ground.

She managed to give the Counselor a grateful smile and breathlessly said to him, "We have to go back in and get the others out of
there...."

  "Agreed." Mowree replied soberly.

Losing the contents of his stomach as well, LJ was nearly as green as the Orion doctor standing next to his biobed. She gave him yet another dose of something to settlehis stomach and watched as Commander Davidson came through the maindoors.
The boy groaned weakly and managed to speak a simple phrase "Beware Daisy-zilla."
In one smooth motion, Daisy grabbed the comm pad from Dr. Poe with one hand and then grabbed LJ's earlobe with the other.

The boy grimaced as Daisy pulled him to a sitting position while reading Dr. Poe's report of the Nicotine and small amounts of Carcinogens that LJ had embibed from the Cigar he'd smoked.

The tall blonde CO shook her head and sighed. Then, she handed the comm pad back to Dr. Poe. Gently, she took LJ's face in her hands. She gave him a kiss on his sweaty forehead before whispering, "You're grounded."

Then, she tapped her comm badge and gave the order. "Have a Security team meet me at Mr. Hookah's Tobacconist shop."

  [[ "Acknowledged, Commander." ]]

Daisy left sickbay while talking over her comm badge next to Wangel Erek and asking him to take Erika and Gavi back to her quarters. Then, she noticed the reporter approaching her.

  "Commander Davidson?"

She blinked and gave him a smile. "Mr. St. George, right?"

He smiled. "Clooney, please. Everything ok?"

"Just a busy day." Daisy replied abruptly. "If you'll excuse me."

Clooney followed. "Is that your boy in there?"

"Really...." Daisy almost begged. "I must be going."

He smiled easily. "Have a good day, Commander."

As she walked away, he heard a beep he recognized as different from the standard Comm badge worn by Starfleet officers. Usually, the reporter wore a Civilian comm badge himself. Those with a sensitive ear noticed the beep was a couple pitches lower than that of the Comm badges starfleet officers usually wore. Clooney's hand went to his own chest, thinking someone was hailing him. No responce.

Then, he noticed the commander had stopped in midstride and touched her own chest.
She was wearing a Civilian comm badge beneath her uniform? Why would she do that?

The CO froze and looked around awkwardly as a Security team approached her. She gave

them orders - something about the Tobacco shop - then practically ran to the nearest turbo lift so she could finish her conversation with Eishnala in private.

I didn't expect I'd get a chance to post - then I sprained my elbow and I'm too sore to do much of anything else. *Grumbles* This just hasn't been my best week.

  Anyway....

What did Eishnala and Mowree find when they went back in after the rest of the away team? Could any of our people have been adversely affected by the broadcast? I know our crew aren't children - but while Mowree and Eishnala have the most sensitive hearing - Kate and Thomas both have very unique eye chemistry. No telling what those subliminal audio/visual messages could have done to them.

  So...Ran and Justin especially.... TAG!~

  Everyone - TAG!!

PS. Taylor - TAG!~ Feel free to resurrect the Evil reporter that badgered Kate if you want to have fun with LJ terrorizing her. And have the lovely Clooney St. George running around. :)
