Gavi was by her bedside, showing her his homework. As she recovered she was
taking more and more of a role in her children's lives again, all the while
trying to be patient to hear about LJ. "Your grammer is improving Gavi, I'm
proud of you"
The young teen boy smiled happily at the praise. He felt this weird sensation
crawl over his skin, and Daisy looked at him in shock as a flask of black light
enveloped him, then vanished with him as his clothing and padd fell to the
ground in a heap.
Though she was getting stronger every day, Daisy was long way from being
her old self. The shock of Gavirosh being whisked away like that - not knowing
where he'd been taken?
She gasped loudly and clutched at her chest. The medical patch she still
wore on her neck immediately alerted sickbay.
Dr. Kelly McKennitt had just finished beaming some equipment and
forwarding some files to Grace's quarters. Thanks both to Cade Foster's
observations and Kate MacNeil's gentle intervention, the Orion Workaholic
had been forced to take some downtime in her quarters without her
Pheremone inhibitor. Sending the stubborn Orion reports to work on and
equipment to repair and recalibrate during her "downtime" was the only
way to get her to stop making a pest of herself asking if everyone in
sickbay had remembered to do this or remembered to do that, etc.
Kelly's close proximity to the medical transport made it easy for her to
respond in person when the the alarm designated to the patch on Daisy's
neck that monitored her cardiac functions went off. A second later,
she was in the Commander's quarters putting a hypospray to Daisy's
throat and coaching her to breathe through the palpitations.
Daisy croaked Gavi's name loudly - wanting to know what had happened to her
son and still struggling for air. . Wangel Erek came running from
LJ's room with Erika following close behind. Erek quickly doubled back to
scoop up his daughter and began assuring her that Dr. McKennit was
helping Daisy.
It was the Bajoran who answered when the comm came from Ops saying
that Gavi had been found. Hearing the condition in which Gavi had been
found, Wangel Erek gave a sort of odd little groan and knew immediately
that LJ was the only person who would have taken pleasure in pulling
this type of prank. The Bajoran school teacher was usually known for his
patience and tolerance - but LJ sometimes even left the legendary Wangel
Erek shaking his head and wanting a good, stiff drink.
Gavi was quickly given a shirt by one of the male officers. It fit him like
a tent, making his scrawny barely-a-teenager "Chicken legs" look even
more pitiful as they quietly walked him back to Daisy's quarters. The boy
was too shocked by what had happened to put together who obviously
would have done such a thing. He just groaned and busted out crying as
he walked into his own livingroom and heard Erika giggling,
"Oh, my goodness! Why is Gavi wearing that? He looks silly!"
Gavi was crying in his room when the doorchime rang. Her chest still
sore - but her breathing returned to normal - Daisy was already on her
feet wanting to go see Gavi.
Still a little shaky, she had to lean on Dr. McKennitt and Wangel Erek
just to make her way to the couch in the livingroom. She was calling
Gavi's name,
"Son, come out - I was worried. Come here."
"NO! I'm never leaving this room again!" Gavi declared - filled with
teenage melodrama.
It was Wangel Erek who answered the doorchime and first saw
the smirk on LJ's face. The same devoted father who spoiled
Erika rotten felt something that was genuinely rare for him, he
was annoyed.
From the other side of the livingroom, Daisy called out
"Who is it?"
LJ paused, expecting Wangel Erek to step aside and let him
in. The Bajoran cryptically replied, "I got it, Daisy - you
worry about Gavi."
Much to his surprise, Erek didn't let him in. Erek stepped into the
corridor - putting himself between LJ and Daisy -
then, he gave LJ a scolding look.
"I knew that was you - yanking Gavi out of the room like that.
What were you thinking?"
LJ frowned, surprised to be scolded by Erek. Then, he replied,
"Yeah that's vengeance, he said. That's the law."
"You scared Daisy badly. " Erek chided him. "One minute
she's talking to Gavi, the next minute - he's whisked away?
They had to sedate her."
The color drained from LJ's face. He said, "Fear awaken
Go with it now" and then he shoved Erek aside so he could
bust in and see if Daisy was ok.
He half-ran into the livingroom. Gavi was on the couch with
a blanket wrapped around the shirt he'd been given and
Daisy was consoling him.
It was then, LJ saw how pale Daisy still appeared. He saw
the medical patch on her neck and the way some of her veins
were a little darker than normal because she was still saturated
with Nanites.
While he'd felt justified in humiliating Gavirosh because of
a prank Gavi had pulled on him, LJ hadn't intended to do
any harm to Daisy.
The boy threw himself into Daisy's arms, "I'm sorry I'm bad,
I'm sorry I'm blue."
Erika shrieked. "LJ!!"
Daisy gave a happy sigh. "Look Erika - we got our boys
back!"
Gavi sniffled and gave LJ a look.
"Are you really back?"
LJ responded with a questioning look of his own and
a lyric in the form of a question, "Brother my brother?"
Suddenly, the younger boy's face lit up with understanding.
"You did this to me, didn't you?"
LJ smirked. Then, he noticed Daisy's look of surprise. Giving
her an awkward smile, he said in reference to Gavi,
"He aint heavy, he's my brother."
Daisy narrowed her eyes slightly, giving him a gentle look of
warning. Then, she chuckled and said,
"In the future - try to be brothers without public nudity, please."
The front door was still open and Cade Foster was walking with
Drake. They were discussing what Drake had seen of the Dominion
cloning and differences between Tolemere length in the structures of
human and El-Aurian DNA - the only explaination for why there had
been a subtle in the cellular structure between Daisy and her clones
but Drake and his were all perfectly and exactly identical.
The two men stood in the door way. "Everything ok?"
Daisy smiled - thrilled to have LJ back. She nodded.
Gavi sniffled and lightly rubbed his nose on the blanket that was
still wrapped around him.
"I'm just...I'm going to go get dressed."
Erika climbed up on LJ's lap and boasted to anyone who would
listen. "I got my both my big brothers back!"
She gave LJ a kiss on the cheek and he made a goofy, obviously
teasing face as if it was gross. Erika just laughed. Then, Wangel
Erek said, "Honey - I bet your Mom is getting tired."
Erika rolled her eyes. "Yeah - what else is new."
Daisy scoffed. "Gee, thanks, Kiddo."
Dr. McKennitt had been quietly observing the family interaction until
she finally took her que from the look that Wangel Erek was giving her.
"Actually, Daisy should get some rest."
Daisy groaned softly. Then, she looked past Dr. McKennitt to Cade and
their eyes locked for a minute. Then, she sighed and looked away.
Foster rolled his eyes and groaned. As usual, he was still annoyed with
Daisy but drawn to her at the same time.
Without saying a word, he just walked into the room and offered his hand
to help her up from the couch. She accepted and slowly rose - only to
wobble slightly. Cade gallantly scooped her up in his arms. She slid
her arms around his neck and buried her face against his shoulder.
The intimacy of that, having her in his arms again, made him flinch. Seeing the
chemistry that passed between them, Wangel Erek stopped LJ from following
them into Daisy's room. It seemed obvious to the Bajoran that Foster and
Daisy needed another chance to be alone.
LJ only knew he wanted more time with his Mom. So - he shot Wangel Erek
an annoyed look and then went to see his old room. Once he got there, he
saw a few of Wangel Erek's personal things and realized the Bajoran school
teacher had been staying in his room.
One thing was abundantly clear at that point, Erika's Daddy was beginning
to annoy him.....

NRPG:
Songs used for LJ's speech -
Carly Simon - Vengeance
Disturbed - Fear
BuckCherry - Sorry
Blessed Union of Souls - Brother
The Hollies He aint heavy he's my brother
Ran and Taylor - I deliberately left big Jax and Anaqueen alone - hoping that
the two of you might have fun writing them having words over Jax's ship getting
so close to Anaqueen's window. Ran - I also hoped to set you up for the JP we
talked about with Grace and Kate.
Peter - I think my mention of Drake and the DNA covered that one last loose
end that you and I talked about. Any chance Drake would recognize the look on
the face of "young Jax" and offer some advice to Wangel Erek? LOL
Oh and everyone! Guess what? Jasmina contacted me just a few hours ago. She
is back from vacation and working to catch up on 18 posts - I'm hoping that means
we'll be getting a post from her when she's done reading. :)
And LEIGH? Hello?! Whenever you are ready, honey - just have your character arrive and meet either Eishnala or Captain Spankryz. You have the link to the website, right?
