“Anaqueen vs. Jaxsper”
(contd from Kim’s ‘There’s no place like home’)

  Location: GS-2
  SD: 2.80429.2359
  Scene: CO’s office

Anaqueen stood in front of the window, her blue eyes shooting daggers at the grey body of the USS APPARITION. The Trill was steaming red at the sudden appearance of the phantom class vessel, considering the amount of commotion its unannounced presence caused to the station. Spankryz paced about furiously, awaiting the arrival of the stealth frigate’s CO.

The door chime was heard. She announced sternly. “Enter.” At the command, the doors slid apart allowing a tall officer wearing a cheeky grin on his face to enter Davidson’s office.

“Jaxsper Lawrence reporting as ordered,” Jax began, standing in attention but the grin still remained gracing his lips. “I suppose you’re going to yell at me, Captain.” Clearly he was finding the entire exchange amusing as if getting a dressing down from Anaqueen Spankryz was fun. Ana’s temper gained a rather infamous reputation in the fleet, though to be fair to the Trill, she had managed to control her anger better over the years. Her subordinates knew better to do something to cross Spankryz lest they wanted to chance becoming the brunt of that woman’s anger. But Lawrence was one of the few who didn’t flinch under the Captain’s glare.

Ana demanded angrily. “What were you thinking showing up unannounced like that?” As usual in any confrontation, the Trill glared at the officer who had once served as her FCO on the PROPHECY a few years ago.

Jax responded casually. “Like I mentioned earlier, I wanted to test the ship’s stealth capabilities.” He smirked watching the station’s acting CO’s angry stare strengthen even further before remarking. “And it looks like they are in perfect condition.”

Clearly unimpressed with the Australian’s relaxed attitude towards the whole situation, the Trill reproached him. “Mr. Lawrence, may I remind you that you have violated every protocol in the book with that stunt.”

“I guess the thought did vaguely cross my mind,” Lawrence mused, smirking.

Ana continued, admonishing the other CO. “You were supposed to inform us of your arrival by providing the ship’s security codes to Operations, prior to crossing the station’s security perimeter!” She had raised her voice towards the end of the dialogue.

Jax pointed out cheekily. “If I complied with protocol, it would have defeated the purpose of my test.” The comment made the Trill angrier as she moved around her desk and stood a few feet from the other officer.

“Appearing 1 m off the station’s hull!” Ana snapped, folding her arms. “This set off the collision alarms in case you didn’t notice. Can you imagine the chaos your little stunt has generated considering the GATEWAY is already in a heightened situation!?!”

Lawrence innocently suggested. “But no one seems to be hurt.”

“Well I hope you’re right,” Spankryz remarked curtly. She paused a moment, trying to regain her composure and then warned in a low, harsh tone. “Make sure you don’t repeat this ever again, Mr. Lawrence.”

Jax assured, his grin not having disappeared since the commencement of the entire exchange. “Don’t worry, Captain. It won’t happen again at the station.”

“Good.” Ana nodded before ordering, annoyance still evident in her voice. “You’re dismissed.”

The Australian CO sighed with feigned relief. “Finally.” Turning around, he strode to the door. Before leaving, Jax glanced behind and stated, smirking. “Oh I was thinking. Hope you don’t mind if I surprise you at the COMMENDATION.” The COMMENDATION, a century class battle cruiser, was the Trill woman’s permanent posting.

Ana retorted, rolling her eyes. “Mr. Lawrence, do us both a favor and leave!”

“Happy to oblige,” Jax replied, grinning and stepped out, leaving a very irate Captain.

[[MacNeil to Captain Spankryz,]] Kate’s voice erupted through the Trill’s comm. badge.

Ana grew concerned noting the urgency in the half-Nuimon’s tone. “Spankryz here. Report.”

The Scot informed. [[We have a security situation in the promenade.]]

“How bad is it?” Spankryz questioned, sighing exasperatedly as if her day couldn’t get any worse. Operations center was already in a commotion from the Apparition’s sudden arrival and then trouble in the promenade only aggravated the Trill’s already dour mood.

Kate explained quickly. [[A riot, initiated by a small group of unruly civilians, had broken out in the promenade. They’ve vandalized a few businesses already. Lt. Palandora already informed me that security teams are dispatched to the area to deal with the situation.]]

“Good.” Ana nodded. “Inform Lt. Palandora that her teams are to avoid civilian casualties as much as possible.”

[[Yes Captain.]] MacNeil complied before alerting her superior with a shaky voice. [[There is something more.]]

“Like what?” Ana’s eyes suddenly went cold.

Kate responded, sighing out of frustration. [[The rioters are yelling about the ‘Dominion War Syndrome’, the marines, the saboteur and Commander Davidson.]]

The Trill CO mentally cursed FedCom over causing the unnecessary panic in the first place. She informed coldly. “I’m coming to Operations. Spankryz out.”

  [[Understood Captain. MacNeil out.]]

NRPG: Just wanted to respond to Taylor’s post and perhaps add more mayhem to the station ;)

Taylor: Hope the interaction between Ana and Jax is okay with you.
