A science officer, Thomas quickly recognized the scent and texture
of the colored water as T-dye. He took a moment to groan with
annoyance and comprehend what the boys had done before rushing
after them. Their streams of T-dyed water left Thomas's large white
wings discolored with bright splotches of red and blue.
Sure, it was harmless and it would fade in a few days. Still - as
if having wings wasn't enough - the very idea of them being this
horrendously loud red, white and blue was
infuriating.
Daisy wore a modest green T-shirt over her one-piece swimsuit and
stood with Erika, Nova and Cynthia as the boys came running. They
babbled with glee, staying in the character of their game and calling
Daisy "your majesty".
The reporter's eyes were wide as Daisy listened to Thomas describe
how the boys had attacked him with their T-dye water and now - unless
he actually wanted to pluck a third of his feathers and have big bald
spots on his wings - he'd be stuck with the red and blue splotches
for the next several days.
Cade offered to get Erika and Nova some ice cream and the two
younger children sniggered that LJ and Gavi were probably in really
big trouble as they followed the older doctor to a concession stand.
Daisy paused awkwardly, knowing how curious the reporter would
be to see the way Daisy handled the situation.
Finally, Daisy gave a weary sigh and told Thomas he could take
the next few days off until his wings returned to their normal color.
Then, she tapped her comm badge and contacted the park manager
to ask for a couple extra large water guns filled with
T-dye for Lt. JG Varn.
Gavi and LJ both stepped back from Daisy nervously as the park
manager approached. She smiled at the both sweetly and told them
she loved them. Then, she handed the
two large colored water pistols to Thomas.
LJ's and Gavi's own water guns were nearly empty as Daisy
instructed Thomas,
"I guess my sons need to learn that what comes around goes
around. So, do your
worst."
A big grin spread of Thomas's face and he asked, "Really?"
Daisy laughed. "They started it. It's only fair."
Thomas gave a sinister laugh and said to the boys, "Prepare to feel
my wrath!"
Gavi and LJ both started running and Thomas followed...

Cade stayed over but things hadn't moved along the way he'd
hoped they would. He'd hoped they'd wake up in each other's arms
after a long, blissfull night of reconnecting with each other and making
love. He'd visualized something more like a honeymoon and what he
got was, instead, awkward silence.
It was the most uncomfortable and the most helpless he'd ever
felt when she pushed him away. She didn't ask him to leave, but
she wasn't comfortable enough in her own skin to be intimate yet.
As much as he tried to play the part of a badass, Cade was human
enough for Daisy's just wanting to lay together and talk to play on his
insecurities. He knew a little about her history with Captain Kenta
and couldn't help wondering if maybe Daisy was secretly wishing for him.
Daisy rested with her head on his chest, sniffled and brushed aside
a couple tears while once again telling him that she was sorry and he
looked up at the ceiling so the look of hurt and disappointment on his face.
He smoothed her hair with his fingers and promised everything was ok.
Then, he asked, "Have you been able to transform yet?"
She sighed awkwardly "No. I've tried. I mustered a few flickers of
blue light but I couldn't finish THAT either..."
Hearing that soothed his wounded ego a bit. It wasn't just intimacy
she was still having trouble with.
He managed a weak laugh and then asked, "Do you think Poe is
right to clear you for duty?"
Her hair felt soft against his chest as she nodded. "I do. She said
getting back to a normal routine...."
Cade sniggered. "Like anything on this station is ever 'normal'..."
Daisy managed a chuckle. "She felt it would help me get more
comfortable with myself..."
Cade offered with a sigh "Maybe I should get out of here before
the rugrats wake up...."
The doorchime rang and Daisy laughed, adjusting the sheet to cover herself,
"Too late."

Erika was all smiles and asking Cade, "Are you going to marry my Mom?"
Foster blinked and then teased the little girl, "Why? Are you going to marry
my Dad?"
Erika giggled. "I'm too young to get married and your Dad is dead. "
Cade blinked. "How did you know that?"
Erika shrugged. "You're old - so, of course, he's dead."
The boys might have laughed if they weren't both annoyed over Daisy
having allowed Thomas to chase them down and leave them both
with splotches of red and blue all over their skin.
Cade changed the subject and looked to the older boy, "Something wrong
with your pancakes, LJ?"
The teenager picked awkwardly at his food and then glanced at Gavi.
The younger teen seemed to read LJ's mind and said to Foster, "I think he
lost his appetite."
Cade managed an awkward grin and then was relieved when Daisy emerged
from her bedroom, dressed for work. Cade and LJ both stood up.
Cade smiled, "Good you're here."
LJ ran for his guitar as if to play something and then paused, torn about
what to play. What would annoy Daisy more? A few chords of "Hail to the
chief" or a few chords of a cheesy porn soundtrack? Something along the
lines of "bow-chicka-bow-bow" to poke fun at their finding Cade in Daisy's
bed this morning.
Mother and son shared a quick but loaded exchange as Daisy, decked out
in her uniform and wearing the full 'command presence' that went along
with it, gave LJ a look of warning. He put down his guitar and then just
walked to his room, leaving his breakfast unfinished.
Daisy sighed as Erika came to give her a quick hug.
"You look pretty, Mommy."
Daisy smiled at her daughter. "So do you. Are you ready to go with your
Dad to Bajor today?"
Erika nodded. "Though I wouldn't mind staying to see if Gavi and LJ
get turned any more funny colors."
Daisy smirked as Gavi groaned and sighed. He wished she would ignore
his blue and red splotches and was embarrassed Daisy had allowed
Thomas to seek his vengence against them.
"I think they're both going to behave themselves now." Daisy grinned.
"Atleast, I hope they will."
The doorchime rang and Daisy called out "Enter".
Wangel Erek walked in and picked up his daughter. The handsome
Bajoran beamed, "Is her bag packed?"
Daisy nodded. "It's in her room." Then, she gave Erika a little peck
on the cheek.
"I'll see you in a couple weeks, baby."
LJ emerged just long enough to give Erika a quick hug bye. Once
she was gone, Gavi asked, "Mom? Can we have a tutor for the
next few days so we don't have to go to school with our skin all
splotched like this? "
"I'll tell you what...." Daisy offered the boys. "If you guys
promise me you won't T-dye anyone else ever again....I'll show
you how to use the Dermal regenerator in the medical kit in my
room to fix your complexions."
Gavi jumped and beamed. "I promise. So does LJ!"
Daisy looked at the older teenage boy skeptically as he nodded
but kept one hand behind his back. She narrowed her eyes
at LJ and chided him. "Crossing your fingers. Not cool."
Cade rolled his eyes and chuckled as LJ brought both arms
infront of him, crossed them, and refused to promise anything.
Foster offered to fix Gavi's complexion and give Daisy a moment
alone with her eldest adopted son. Gavi shot LJ an annoyed
look and then followed Cade into Daisy's room.
They came out a few moments later and LJ was gone.
Daisy smiled at both of them and said LJ would be back when
he was ready to be reasonable. Then, she picked up a small
black velvet box that was a belated birthday gift for Anaqueen,
gave Gavirosh a quick kiss and told him she hoped he had a good
day at school.
"I'll walk him there for you." Cade offered, smiling. Then, maybe
I'll see you for lunch?"
Daisy gave him a smile. "It's a date."

NRPG:
Yes - Daisy is on her way to take back Command and give Anaqueen a belated birthday gift. So - consider it done. Ran - I was thinking whatever sort of Jewelry you think would be along Ana's taste would be in the black velvet box. :)
Taylor - I hope you enjoyed LJ's defiance and we'll talk about where he's going after his little show-down with his Mom. *Snigger* I have a few fun ideas. Don't worry - only Erika is leaving the station for the next few weeks because I think this next mission could be a little too dark for a 7 year old to be around. She can't defend herself as well as Gavi and LJ can.
Justin - I hope you liked what I did for Thomas.
Leigh - do not forget we need an arrival post from you before Thursday.
