“Lets see I should get... What's this?” enters a room he didn't notice before.
*Chime*
“Come.”
“Shh,” he hears from the other room.
As he sticks his head around the door he is greeted with a chorus, “Surprise!”
“Daddy!”
“Hey guys. When did you get here?” scoping them up.
“About ten minutes ago,” replied Anna the nanny, “Commander Davidson arranged the whole thing. The travel orders arrived a few days ago. She even sent some people to pack up everything. It should arrive in a few days.”
“We rode in a big ship and we got to see the fighters in the dock on the ship.”
“Did you get to sit in the cockpit?”
“No,” Elijah said disappointed.
“Well I'll see if I can fix that,” he said winking at Leah.
“I'll go get settled in my quarters on deck 12.”
“Great, I'll give you a buzz if when I need you.”
Anna nods, taking her bag and heads out. As she leaves delivery men comes in carrying two trunks.
“Just put them in there.”
“Yes sir.”
“So you guys had dinner yet? Lets check out the promenade, get you registered for school, and get some dinner.”
“I want chicken,” Leah exclaims.
“I want pizza.”
“That's the best part of a space station, everyone gets what they want.”

Scene: Promenade
As they enter the promenade Cochrane glances around for the school but spots Lt. Commander Drake.
“Well who are these two? You're not Dominion spies are you?”
“No we're kids,” Elijah and Leah giggle in unison.
“Hi Commander,” Cochrane said offering his hand. “This is Leah and Elijah. Guys this is Commander Drake. He keeps us safe from spies and bad guys.”
“Cool.”
“Yea cool,” Drake smiled.
“Sir you wouldn't know the location of the school would you?”
“Actually, yes I do. Go to the end down there, make a left, and its the first door on the right.”
“Thanks. Tell Commander Drake bye guys.”
“Bye.”
“See you later.”
“Keep you eyes peeled for bad guys,” Drake grinned.
They both saluted and took Cochran's hand as they headed to the school.

Time Index: Three hours later
Scene: Stephens quarters
“Thanks commander,” Cochrane whispered as he enters the room holding Leah. “Lets put them in my bed.”
Gently he laid Leah in the bed while Commander Davidson placed Elijah on the other side and they both took the kids shoes off. Davidson excused herself to the other room while Cochrane tucked the kids into bed.
“Thanks for this. You really didn't have to but I'm very glad you did.”
“Not a problem. I'm a parent myself and I like my officers to have the best of everything I can give them.”
“Well I appreciate it more than you know. I'll do my best to serve you ma'am.”
“I expect nothing less,” she smiled on her way out the door.

Location: Pirate ship
Time: Concurrent with previous scenes
Keiran Cane sat brooding over the specs of a fighter in the bar of the ship.
“There you are,” Zander said sitting down and sliding a drink to him.
“What do you want?”
“Sorry to hear about your family.”Looking up with a cold dead stare, he paused and returned to his work. He made notes on the margins of the blue prints and downed the drink in one gulp shattering the glass when he slammed it on the table.
“Sympathy is for the weak. If you want give sympathy to anyone, give it to the Dominion.”
Zander watched as Keiran left the room. Like his alter, Cochrane Stephens, Keiran too was father but he recently received word that the Dominion raided his home and there were no survivors. The ones they did not kill they took and tortured for information until they died. He received word that his daughters, Yamka 9 and Quynh 15, were tortured and found murdered in a known Dominion outpost two days ago. Since then he has only thought of one thing, killing everyone.

Scene: Stephens Quarters
Time: continuation of previous Stephens scene
Cochrane took a package that was leaning up against the wall and carefully unwrapped it revealing a large family photo. Gently touching his wifes image, he looked around the room, took down a painting, and replaced it with his family photo. Next he went into the small room that was for the kids and decided to tackle it tomorrow.
“I don't have the strength for this tonight.”
