Kate MacNeil leaned back in her chair, hoping the rest of the journey would go smoothly but that was not going to be the case considering they were tailed by a lone Dominion ship. The CHANTICO was currently towing the SHIV, a move that was risky to both ships. The raptor class destroyer traveled at a speed of warp six to avoid severe damage to the engines as much as possible. It was sheer luck the pirate vessel wasn't too heavy, making it easier for the starship to pull it. Kate questioned, addressing Lt. Stephens at helm. "ETA?" "1 hour 15 minutes," Cochrane replied, quickly glancing behind before returning to his task of piloting the ship safely back to the station. Jake reported. "Engines of both vessels are holding steady. No sign of any gravimetric distortions." "Let's hope this is the case for the rest of the journey," the half-Nuimon remarked calmly. Turning to Eishnala, the Scottish woman inquired. "Is the Dominion still following us?" Kor shrugged, when answering the hybrid's question. "Affirmative. But as I mentioned before, they would not dare follow us into Federation territory." "Well I hope you're right," MacNeil sighed. "Honestly, I am just glad we avoided a messy battle with an armada of ten to twelve Dominion ships." Kate knew the plan for the COMMENDATION and the CHANTICO to tow ships, when traveling at warp entailed potential risks but the alternative was worse. Taking in his surroundings noticing that fourteen of his crewmates had also been sent here. Not concerned with the others, Keiran left the room and made his way to a near by service panel where he slipped in and climbed the ladder to the top. Once there he slowly opened the door and carefully checked the hallway for passers-by before exiting. At the far end of the hall he saw a teenager exit a turbolift and made his way to a door farther down the hall. From the look of the package in his hand he was headed home with food, probably from a promenade restaurant. Quickly Keiran headed to the turbolift but before he was half-way down the hall he heard a door open and small voices called out, "Daddy. Daddy." Frozen in place as a wave of anguish and anger passed over him he turned and gave his best smile but did not say anything. **This must be his children. ** "Daddy why are you dressed funny?" "Were you on a secret mission?" Elijah asked. "Ah, no I was on my way to an exercise and this is the new uniform we are testing." "Looks uncomfortable," Leah replied. "Where are you supposed to be?" Keiran quickly asked changing the subject. "Get back in... Oh high Lt. Stephens," Anna replied. "You guys know you are not supposed to go out without me. Get in here and finish your lunch." Pouting they gave Keiran a look that almost made him loose all control as waves of memories of his girls flooded his mind. In calmest voice he could muster he replied, "Listen to her. I'll be home later. Be good and we'll play your favorite game." Grinning widely they turned and raced each other to the table. Before Anna could reply Keiran ran to the turbolift. Should I keep the kids up?"" Frozen with fear, Cochrane put down his scanner. Trying not to sound alarmed, "Ah... Put them to bed it's taking longer than expected." ""OK see you later."" Cochrane was out the door before the link closed. "Stephens to security. My alternate was spotted at the crew quarters by my kids. I'm on my way there now. Stephens out."
