“Tuesday Evening”
(contd from Justin & Jamie’s ‘First Meetings’)

Scene: Color Me Happy Spa
Max was tired. It had been a long, boring day working at the spa. It annoyed him sometimes, bussing tables and doing all the boring, heavy lifting while having to watch the customers being pampered.
That came with the job, though - and after flunking out of Starfleet academy - this was the best job he could get at GATEWAY. His father openly mocked him as being nothing more than a "gopher" and a "janitor" - but Max wanted to be out in space and to see the universe. Starfleet didn't work out for him, so he took what job he could.
Entering the pool area, he noticed dishes on the table closest to one of the hot tubs. A couple of fluffy white bathrobes draped over the chairs. It looked like a half-eaten birthday cake sitting next to a couple of saucers and forks.
Suddenly, he heard a faint giggle and a sloshing of water. Only then, did he realize the customers were still here.
Max's long, boring and tedious day suddenly brightened when he saw two lovely women. One looked human, the other Orion. Wearing swimsuits, they were kissing passionately. Grace's long, slender fingers were visible in Kate's damp auburn hair and the paler, pinker skin of Kate's arm made a sharp contrast against the small of Grace's back as the Half-Nuimon pulled her new girlfriend even closer.
Mesmerized by the beauty of both women and their obvious chemistry, Max staggered a bit sideways. Carrying the bus tray of dishes as he tripped over the edge of a bathrobe, all the dishes clanked together and made a loud noise.
Suddenly, he was even more embarrassed as the two women stopped what they were doing and looked directly at him. He laughed awkwardly,
"Right. Sorry, Don't mind me."
Kate giggled, blushing deeply.
Grace gave him a dirty look, “You can go now."
Max scurried away, carrying the tray of dishes. Once he had his back to the two women, he found himself smiling this big, stupid grin over how lovely they looked together.

Scene: Kate’s Quarters

In old Earth literature, people compared different stages of intimacy to the sport of baseball. People talked about dates they were on and made crude references to reaching "first base" or "second base" or even "third base".
The room was filled with the sounds of breathless giggles, kissing and the rustling of blankets. Two beautiful women down to their undergarments and kissing passionately - the two of them approaching "third base". Grace nibbled down the side of Kate's neck and she moaned with pleasure until the picture on her bedside table caught her eye.
It was a picture of Aerdan and Ishe from the days back when she and the Andorian physician had been dating.
Kate felt a painful knot in her stomach and reached up to turn the picture frame away - hoping Grace wouldn't notice.
She did, of course. She stopped what she was doing, noticed the awkward look on Kate's face and reached for the picture frame.
"What's this?"
"Someone I was seeing at one of my previous assignments." Kate finally admitted with a sigh.
"You cared for him?" Grace asked, looking slightly worried.
Kate groaned and took a moment to bury her face in Grace's shoulder. She breathed in deeply of the Orion woman's intoxicating scent and then admitted, "Yes, I did. I'm sorry. I cared for him very deeply and the way things ended....it wasn't right."
"Would you like to talk about it?" Grace asked patiently.
Kate smiled and looked at Grace with awe.
"You'd be ok with that?” The half-Nuimon asked. "The fact that we're *here*...." Kate added, acknowledging that they were in her bedroom, “Listening to the sad story about my history with Aerdan wasn't the kind of evening I promised you."
Grace rolled her eyes and sighed. "Kate, you're silly."
The half-nuimon looked nervous as Grace pulled away and started getting dressed.
"You're not leaving, are you?"
Grace's long black hair fell to one side as she smiled. "I'm not leaving. I just think we need to slow down and talk."
Kate sighed awkwardly, “I'm sorry."
"You don't need to be sorry." Grace chided her gently. She adjusted her shirt and then picked up Aerdan's picture.
"He's handsome for an Andorian," she smiled.
Kate still looked nervous and didn't know what to say.
"Join me out in the living room,” she offered. "Let's talk."
A few moments later, Kate sheepishly walked out to her living room. Once there, she sighed and sat at Grace's feet.
The Orion woman sat patiently with Kate's head rested on her knee. She stroked her hair and listened as Kate talked for the next hour about her history with Aerdan, the hopes she'd had for them and her feelings of regret over how it turned out.
Then, the comm system beeped.
[[“Dr. Poe and Lt. Commander MacNeil, report to sickbay. ]]
In unison, both women rolled their eyes, sighed and then laughed before acknowledging the order.

Scene: Daisy's and Gavi's biobed.
Time index: After the Dark Lord attacked

Daisy's throat had started to swell and turn a bright shade of purple. She couldn't talk but she still kept her arms around Gavi and sat still as Cade held a medical instrument to her throat.
Both women looked a little flushed and disheveled as they rushed into sickbay together.
"What happened?"
"Dark Lord what’s his butt made another appearance." Cade muttered under his breath.
Gavi had changed his soiled clothes for a medical jumpsuit. The boy's eyes were puffy from crying and he watched Cade work.
"LJ's in surgery," the boy blurted out. "They got hurt trying to save me."
"Yeah..." Cade groaned, “Bastard thought he could take Gavirosh away from us."
Daisy grinned at the way Cade spoke, touched by how much Foster cared for her son.
"I'll go see if assistance is needed in surgery." Grace sighed.
Kate noticed Daisy looked a little woozy and she asked, “What about you, Gavi? Are you hurt? How about if you come with me? I'll scan you and then..."
Gavi glanced back at Daisy, “But is Mom going to be ok?"
Cade smirked and gave the boy a gentle teasing, “What? Suddenly you doubt my brilliance? I'll have her good as new in another half an hour."
Daisy gave her son a smile and nodded - indicating it was ok for him to go with Kate.
As the boy stepped down from the biobed, Kate was so moved by his fear and his despair that she immediately pulled him into a hug.
"Shhh.....It's going to be ok, darling...."
As they walked away from Daisy, Kate offered. "There are some new animals in the science department. While we wait to hear how LJ's doing, I bet Lt. Varn would let us have a peek at them."
"Can we go see Zel Rohan first?" Gavi asked. A hint of a smile was already spreading over the boy's face as he said, "When I tell him about the Dark Lord, I bet he gives me a free action figure from his collection."
Once they were out of ear shot, Daisy shuddered - barely managing to hold back a sob.
She didn't want Gavi to see her cry or know how scared she was that she was going to lose him.
Cade sighed and quickly pulled Daisy into a hug.
She only let herself rest her head on his shoulder for a few seconds before taking a deep breath and pulling back, determined to compose herself. She coughed and then rubbed her throat. Her voice cracked slightly.
"It's already much better."
"Excuse me, Commander?" came an unfamiliar voice.
Daisy turned and saw the new Security officer. She rubbed her throat and managed a weak smile. Her eyes were still a little puffy as she politely asked, “You're Ensign Vol, correct?"
