SCENE: Corridor near Daisy's quarters

"You're the station's Commanding Officer," Kate shot back. "I think you can
make them wait."
"Excuse me?" Daisy asked, raising an eyebrow and looking like she might
deck Kate in the jaw. Kate looked like she was preparing a particularly venomous
reply, so Crichton thought this might be a good time to interject and at least
attempt to defuse the situation. He cleared his throat loudly, causing all three
to turn and look at him. He gave them his most charming smile, hoping to
keep Daisy from punching *him* in the jaw instead.
"Is everything okay here?" he asked.
Daisy and Kate glanced at each other then back at Crichton, and each looked
just a little embarrassed. It was no secret the two woman didn't like each other,
but for the most part, they'd kept their mutual dislike professional. To be caught
arguing in a corridor like this just seemed unbecoming of a Starfleet CO and EXO.
Hunter, on the other hand, looked every bit the part of a marine commander.
He glanced at Crichton, a little irritated that the private discussion he'd hoped
to have had suddenly become rather public. Crichton made a mental note to
steer clear of the marine barracks for the next few days.
"Fine, lieutenant," Daisy said, managing a disarming smile. "And yourself?"
"I can't complain," he shrugged. He looked at the three again, raising an
eyebrow. "So... nice day today, huh?"
"A balmy, climate-controlled 78 degrees, as usual," Kate nodded, her
disarming smile a little less convincing than Daisy's.
"Right," Crichton nodded. He knew he really ought to keep moving, but his
curiousity had the better of him now. He wanted to know exactly what it was
he'd interrupted, but knew that flat-out asking probably wasn't the best
approach.
Of course, it was the only approach he could think of at the moment, so he
decided to just go ahead and do it.
"So, what are we talking about?"
"This is none of your concern, Lieutenant." Daisy informed him flatly.
"I apologize if our disagreement alarmed you. "
Crichton frowned, thoughtfully, "It's quite alright, Commander."
Daisy still looked upset. Kate rolled her eyes and sighed. "Daisy, please."
Crichton's eyes widened as Daisy shot her a look. "That will be all,
Lt. Commander, MacNeil."
The Half-Nuimon physician groaned and threw her hands up in the air.
Standing next to her, Hunter slapped his palm against his forehead and
sighed with frustration. Then, he tried again to talk to her.
"Commander Davidson, he's going to be ok, he's going to be better
because of this."
The Marine patiently did nothing as Daisy grabbed him by his shirt collar
and thumped him against the wall. "You put your hands on my son
without asking me and ...."
Crichton stepped in and did his best to put himself between Daisy and
Hunter, "Ok, now this *IS* my concern, Commander."
"I couldn't do nothing - after what my alternate did to him - and I
knew you'd say no." Hunter almost pleaded.
"He is MY son." Daisy hissed. "You had *NO* right." She pushed Crichton
away and the Engineer asked her, "Do I need to call Security, Commander?"
She blinked and then composed herself. "No. Call Lt. Stephens and tell him to
get a shuttle ready. I'm taking my family to BAJOR."
"LJ was not harmed by what Hunter did. " Kate sighed, desperately wanting
Daisy to calm down. "He's already using more normal words. I saw it in
sickbay."
Daisy glared at Kate. "Well, since you feel so entitled to make decisions
regarding my son, you should enjoy making decisions for the rest of the station
as well."
"Meaning what?" Kate scoffed.
"You're in command." Daisy hissed. "I'm taking my boys to BAJOR so I can
observe LJ for a while and make sure there are no negative after affects of
this P'Narran 'light magic' you used on him."
Kate's eyes widened. Then, she glared at Daisy, "Oh, of all the childish....
you're going to regret this tantrum as more time goes by and you see that
we did the right thing."
Crichton jumped just in time to grab Daisy as she lunged for her XO like she
was considering snapping Kate's neck with her bare hands. He knew in
that moment, she was not a Starfleet officer. She was a devoted mother
and furious about what had happened with her child.
Gently, but firmly - Crichton held Daisy's shoulders and gave her a little
shake. "Commander, stop! Stop!"
Daisy glared at Kate and barked a single order, "Report to Ops and inform
Lt. Varn he'll be your acting XO until I return. "
Still confident that she and Hunter had done the right thing, Kate defiantly
stuck out her chin and smiled, "With pleasure, Commander. "
As Kate walked away, Crichton tapped his comm badge. "Lt. Stephens,
prepare a shuttle for a trip to BAJOR for Commander Davidson and her family."
[[ "Aye, sir." ]]
A headach forming behind his eyes, Hunter sighed and said to Crichton,
"Good luck dealing with this woman..."
Again, Daisy was furious and she lunged for the P'Narran "You sonofa..."
Again, Crichton had to grab Daisy to stop her from getting violent with the Marine.
Hunter made no move to defend himself because he knew Crichton wouldn't let
Daisy actually get close enough to touch him. The Marine just rolled his eyes and
walked away, muttering under his breath....
"Right, you humans....very civilized bunch you are."
Once both Kate and Hunter were gone, Crichton asked her, "Are you going to be
ok, Ma'am?"
Daisy was shaking. She brushed away tears and gave a nervous laugh.
"Sorry."
He smiled gently. "Just take a deep breath....."
She rolled her eyes and gave another nervous, weak laugh.
"You're very sweet."
Crichton flashed her a charming grin and then changed his
posture as if his arms were aching,
"And you're very strong....I'm telling you..."
Laughing more sincerely this time, Daisy rolled her eyes as
Crichton pretended to be in pain and joked, "Honestly, I may have
to go to sickbay and tell them you beat me up. Do you know how
embarrassing that will be?"
Daisy laughed a little more and brushed away a few nervous, angry
tears. Then, she teased him, "I've changed my mind. You
aren't sweet. You're terrible."
He gave her a boyish grin and teased, "Yes, I am. I'm as sweet as
they come. Charming, too."
Daisy sniffled and then rubbed her face on her sleep. Then, she chuckled.
"I think I need to get back inside before my boys come looking for me."
He nodded and then he asked, "You sure you're ok?"
She teased him, "Stop being so nice to me or I may have to hug you."
He gasped and clutched his hand to his chest, "Oh, god, anything but
that. Really, I can't be seen hugging my boss. "
She smirked. "Then, get back to work, Lieutenant."
The Engineer crisply stood at attention and replied, "Aye, Commander."
Daisy gave him one last smile and then stepped back into her quarters
to be with her children.

Leigh - Daisy's going to BAJOR. I hope you dont mind Cochrane flying her family there.
He's welcome to bring his own kids and they can play on BAJOR with Daisy's kids for a little while before returning to the station. It's a beautiful planet with everything from Lush green forests and beaches.
Everyone - don't be too hard on Hunter and Kate. They did something with Hunter's abilities that will have a good affect on LJ. Daisy's just mad because they didn't ask her and she's not sure she approves of P'Narran light magic or that she trusts it's potential medicinal value the way Kate does. So Daisy went crazy and wanted to kill both her XO and the Marine. LOL
Taylor will probably write more about Hunter and his "light magic" and the ways he tries to help people when he's feeling better. Right now - he's sick with a stomach bug. So - give him a few days to recover.
Oh, Cranky Cade is going to BAJOR with Daisy. You guys will have to work with ONE Foster to help Alternate Thomas. Now that Daisy knows Hunter used his P'Narran abilities on LJ - she'll take Cade with her to help her keep an eye on the boy and make sure he's really as "ok" as they keep promising her that he will be.
