"Attention on Deck!" The call was barked loud enough for the entire number of Company Commanders to hear them. With the Company Commanders of the 1st regiment, there were Battalion and company commanders from the 2nd and 3rd, comprising the entire leadership of the 6th Regiment. The entirety of Officers stood at attention as Field Colonel H.D. Williams walked in, followed by Brigadier Cassie Yates.

"As you were" she stated as she took the podium, and Hunter took a seat to the right of her. "I gathered you all here for a very specific reason. A few hours ago, a Vorta requested asylum from the Dominion, and offered the locations of several Dominion Installations up as evidence of his sincerity."

"General, has this ever occurred before? I mean how can we trust the Vorta's information to be accurate and not a trap to reduce our numbers?"

"Colonel Donaldson, you have a point. Normally with so little information to go on, we wouldn’t even think of developing a mission as we have, but the Station's Counselor assures me that the Vorta is telling the truth. And as for this ever happening before, I'm not sure."

"During the First Dominion war, one of the Weyoun series defected to the shapeshifter that was then in charge of DS9's security. Also, another Vorta was captured by the DS9 command staff and held as a prisoner of war, until the Vorta was killed in a mission to recover a ferengi national prisoner on empok nor." Hunter reported from his seat. Having lived through these events, and been stationed on a starship that aided in the retaking of DS9, he was well aware of the areas history.

"Now our mission is two-fold. First, the first Battalion save a company or two, will liberate the prison colony that the Vorta defected from. They will hold the planet after dispatching the Dominion Garrison there and freeing the prisoners held there. Field Colonel Williams, you will command the Xerxes for this mission, joining you will be the Farpoint, Black Hole, Cachalot, Luanna, and Dark Star as support vessels. Providing Cover, Starfleet has assigned the USS Endurance, USS Chevron, and the USS Glaisdale. This is important as some interesting artifacts have been found on site, and there may be more so you must hold that world."

"It will be done General" Hunter replied, already drawing up entrenchment plans in his mind.

"the second and third battalions will be on board the Malinche, Macedonia, Ottoman, and Prince of Persia. Our jobs will be to follow a Naval task force comprised of the Perdition class USS Purgatory, the USS Searcher, USS Solstice, and USS Earth Sea to combat the shipyards at Mallora II. The Naval force will destroy the orbital facilities, including the Dominion Starbase in orbit, while we will be going planetside to take over their ground facilities."

"Any questions?"

Hunter walked onto the bridge of the Marine vessel and looked around admiringly. The class had been in sporadic service for 60 years, coming in and out of mothballs as was needed during times of increased strife for the Federation. The last time they had been activated was during the Romulan Incursion almost 15 years ago.

"Status report?"

"All stations manned and ready, the last of the 1st is boarding the ship now and stowing their gear. Station OPS has cleared traffic for our departure whenever we're ready."

"The Farpoints?"

"They are manned and ready, holding position just outside the space doors."

"And the Starships?"

"Holding position on the far side of Andara."

"Signal the Runabouts to join the starships, we will be with them shortly." Hunter looked around at the bridge, which looked remarkably similar to the Intrepid class models. The major difference was the Science station, having been replaced with a troop deployment station, responsible for keeping tabs on all the squads and companies deployed. "Open a channel to Station Operations."

"Channel Open."

"Gateway Control, this is Xerxes, requesting permission to depart."

"Permission granted Xerxes, good luck on your mission, Control out."

"Williams to McNeil. If you need us, call, we will come running." He said into the open channel. He had reservations about taking all the Marines of the 6th Regiment away from the station at once, but the Majority of the 6th fleet was around to aid if something came up while they were gone. "Helm, rendezvous with the fleet, then set a course for the prison facility. Engage at Transwarp factor 1."

"Aye Colonel"

LJ grinned mischievously as he let Fiendfyre into Gavi's room, after opening the smaller teen's dresser to the pup. The pup was surprisingly easy to train and soon the ultimate in pranks would be complete. Over the last month he'd been training the pup to shred specific articles of clothing at a specific time of day. Already fiendfyre had come to expect the fun of shredding cloth at 1600 hours, and tended to beg his master for the game to start when LJ lost track of time.

He'd started off soaking the clothing in a meat juice that would entice any k-9, and slowly weaned the dog off the juice until it was just the clothing he'd go after. Twenty minutes later, Gavi came rushing out of his room glaring at LJ "Your mutt chewed up all my underwear!"

Lj started laughing hysterically, especially when Fiendfyre bound out of the room and started attacking Gavi himself trying to get the pair he was wearing.

"Call him off LJ." Cade admonished trying not to laugh as Gavi's jeans were torn from him by three separate heads.

"Fiendfyre! Come!" The pup trotted happily over to its master two heads still knowing on a piece of blue denim that was once Gavi's back pocket. "Good boys" he said patting each on the head.

Cursed with an abnormally vast perception of this cruel reality, trudging through levels of intense emotion no small minded creature could withstand! So it is no surprise that, most of all, there is pain in superiority. I suffer because I am better.
