{{ "Thank you, Commander Davidson, for agreeing to this interview." }}
 began Cynthia Matilde.

Daisy looked tanned and healthy from the days of playing on the beach
with her children. The two women stood on the same deck where LJ had
slept with Fiendfyre the day before. Behind them, the lovely backdrop of
 Lupaza island was a refreshing change from the usual sort of locations
Cynthia broadcast from. Wearing a blue and white halter dress, her long
blonde hair up in a ponytail, Daisy replied with a polite smile. {{ "You're
welcome, Miss Matilde." }}

{{ " I'm sure you heard of the recent broadcasts of events from
GATEWAY station - including footage of your recent dispute with
 a Lt. Commander MacNeil and Field Colonel Williams. Would
you like to make a comment about that?" }}

One hand resting on the deck railing, Daisy sighed and then
managed a strained smile,  {{ "Thank you, yes. I deeply regret
losing  my temper and behaving so unprofessionally  towards
both Lt. Commander MacNeil and Colonel Williams. Yes, there
 was a misunderstanding regarding the treatment of my son.
Being a mother yourself, I'm sure you can understand how deeply
such a thing would affect me. I responded first as a frightened and
 worried mother and took out my frustrations on the very people who
 were trying the most to help my family and I regret that very
 much. " }}

{{ "And what about the investigation into how the station records
 were leaked to the media?" }} asked the Fedcom reporter.

Daisy crossed her arms over her chest and rolled her eyes.
{{ "Yes, Ensign Vol is leading that investigation and I have every
confidence in her abilities - however we all know the public is
always going to be invested in and interested in all things that
are happening on the station.  Those of us who are assigned
there have to conduct ourselves accordingly." }}

{{ "That's an interesting turn of phrase." }} Cynthia smiled.
{{ "Are you reconsidering  your assignment? After the abrupt
 nature of your departure from the station during a time of
war - there were rumors of you retiring or being transfered." }}

Daisy smiled thoughtfully, her last conversation with Ben Kenta
crossing her mind. She leaned on the railing and hesitated - as
 if she wasn't sure what to say.

Cynthia blinked awkwardly, {{ "Commander?" }}

Daisy sighed and continued. {{ "I've always been committed
 to Starfleet. I still believe in  everything that Starfleet stands
for and I stand behind what we're trying to accomplish on
GATEWAY station and in the Gamma quadrant. Because
of that, I will be returning to GATEWAY after I've spent a
couple more weeks with my family." }}

{{ "Is there anything you'd like to say to those who are
critical of you for taking time away from  the station during
 the war with the Dominion?" }} Cynthia asked, a hint
 of a smile on her lovely  face.

Daisy raised an eyebrow - indicating her surprise that
anyone had complained about her leaving the station. Then,
she nodded.

{{ "Yes, Gateway station remains in very capable hands.
Though I play on returning in a couple of weeks and Starfleet
has assigned me to be the commanding officer of that station,
 I am not arrogant enough to consider myself "indispensable"
to the station's daily operations. Gateway has an outstanding
crew perfectly capable of...." }}

Daisy was startled by Cynthia nearly jumping out of her skin
 and muttering {{ " Oh, my" }} before turning her back to the
sliding glass doors that opened up to the deck they were
standing on.

Annoyed their mother had been pressured into allowing
atleast one reporter to visit them on what was supposed to be
 their private vacation, LJ and Gavirosh had lowered their pants and
exposed their bare bottoms to the glass door. The words "Go away"
were written on their adolescent "bums" in big red and black letters.

Cynthia managed a polite, patient smile and Daisy did the same
 before quickly muttering,

{{ "Excuse me for a moment" }}

As Daisy opened the door, the sounds of the boys' giggling
 flowed out onto the deck. It was quickly followed by the thumping
of footsteps as they ran upstairs and Daisy followed
after them.

NRPG:

I finished off the big, bad pain pills that made me loopy.  I just have
 additional antibiotics to worry about for a few more days.  Then, my only
obstacle to returning will be waiting for my husband to finish his vacation
days and go back to work.   It's hard to coordinate anything more
complicated than this little "tid bit" when I always have either my husband
or my kids around.    I estimate I should be able to bring Daisy back to
GATEWAY between the 5th and the 15th and get involved in helping with
Ran's mission and coordinating things involving everyone.

Thanks for your patience.
