"PART TWO"

( Continued from my own PART ONE )

Location: BAJOR
Scene: Shuttle
Stardate: 2.909.1448

Daisy's little girl looked all excited as she watched her father get
clearance to land on the Island. She was looking forward to seeing
her Mom again.

"She said we'd make a camp fire on the beach and that we'd roast
marshmallows and those Veggie dogs." Erika smiled at her Daddy.

"I know. I know. I get how excited you are. That's why we've come
early" grinned Wangel Erek. "She invited me to stay, too. " His smile
became slightly more 'strained' as he mentioned, "I think she's hoping
to see me spend more time with Gavi and LJ."

"You do like my brothers, don't you, Daddy?" Erika asked, noticing the
darkening of his expression.

"Gavirosh is a lovely young boy." Erek quickly assured her.

The seven year old half-Bajoran daughter looked remarkably like
her human mother as she put her hand on her hip and narrowed her
eyes at him, "And, LJ?"

Wangel Erek laughed weakly, "I agree with your mother that LJ is
very bright and has a lot of potential."

Erika's eyes widened and her mouth dropped open. "That's one
of those vague and polite 'Non-answers' Mom always teases you
about, isn't it?"

Wangel Erek's jaw dropped in responce - surprised Erika was
becoming more 'intuitive'. Then, he laughed weakly.

"We're going to be landing soon."

Location: BAJOR - TEMPLE OF IPONU
( Lupaza Island)
Scene: ORB ROOM

______________________________________

After all these years in Starfleet, Daisy had been through a
large variety of fantastic adventures. An orb experience,
though - was something she'd never done before. The Vadek
couldn't explain why it was so terribly urgent that she do this
'right now' - but she felt obligated to humor him and hoped
whatever it was could be handled before Erika arrived.

Kneeling before the Orb, she felt sick to her stomach. Laughing
to herself, she imagined that would be just her luck. Her first time
having an Orb experience - she'd probably "toss her cookies" and
cover one of the first nine "Tears of the Prophets" in a spew of
vomit.

Gently, she opened the little doors and allowed the golden light
from the Orb to envelop her. In that instant, every indication
of being on Bajor left her awareness, the smell of the ocean, the
birdsong outside the window, even the gothic furnishing and
four walls of the Orb room....all gone. There was nothing like the
familiar sensation of a transporter beam. In the space between an
inhale and an exhale - she was suddenly just someplace else.

The Vadek stepped into the room and found it empty. Then, a
few moments later, he recieved word that Wangel Erek's
shuttle was landing.

Erek made an excuse about first wanting to see his friend, the
Vadek, before going to see any of Daisy's "Boys" down at the
estate she'd rented. In his eyes, Cade was frequently just as
childish as both the boys Daisy had adopted - so the three of
them were her "boys".

Daisy's daughter had a bounce in her step as she followed along
side her Dad. He and the Vadek were discussing some instructional
materials for the Wangel Family Boarding school when Erika finally
interrupted,

"Is my Mommy here?"

The Vadek Tabor Finn gathered his robe and knelt down to Erika's
level.

"I'm sorry, love. Something very important has happened and
the Prophets have called your Mommy away."

The little girl looked up at him with big sad eyes and asked,

"More important than me?"

NRPG: Sorry for this being so short. I started to work on something
involving the rescue of Cochrane Stephens but Leigh is working on her
own follow-up to that post.

Ran has also told me she's working on a post.

Now, I have to figure out where Daisy has gone and when!! LOL

Oh, yeah - and a minor continuity error. It wasn't a "Thousand" years ago the ancient folks on the desert planet went extinct. It was a million according to Ran's opener.

Are they extinct, though? Or are they in the abyss that Crichton is "seeing"? What if this alien technology sent them there to be safe from whatever covered their planet with raging sandstorms? We don't want the Dominion to have that - or they'd start sending all the solids away to an abyss like that. LOL Just a thought. No telling what kind of technology they had a million years ago and how that technology may respond to our attempts to decipher it.

Another idea from Babylon 5 comes to mind, too. *grin*
