Whatever "disapproval" Daisy may have felt over Hunter's simply 'informing' the CO's and Exec's
that they were required to donate DNA quickly faded as she focused on the task at hand. However
abrupt she may have found his "command style" with his subordinates - there was no denying
what a relief it was to be back in "Doctor mode" and only responsible for the medical work she was
doing with the young Ensign Stormfeather
Daisy had previous experience with cloning equipment from her time spent as a Dominion Prisoner.
She gave Lt. Varn a quick run through of the basics while Stormweather stuck by the genetics console.
Thomas easily learned the basic of their clone production technology and worked on how to dismantle
and reverse engingeer some equipment used in neural pattern uploading for after the bodies were taken
back to GATEWAY. Though some assistance could be provided by skilled Vulcans, Betazoid or even
P'Narrans - the science officer was optimistic the Dominion technology was the best bet for seperating
and relocating intertwining neural patterns and the GATEWAY sickbay was the better quality facility
for monitoring the hosts and their recovery afterwards.
Ensign Stormweather was tasked with making sure the Durali would have a healthy gene pool.
Daisy took on the task of making sure the bodies were as healthy as they were supposed to be and
monitored their stability through the process of being loaded for transport.
While monitoring their perimeter and checking for any more Dominion traffic, Hunter was obligated
to check on their progress. The Marine entered the facility scowling - expecting to pick up more
feelings of disapproval from the Station's CO. He expected her to whine and moan about having
to work under his Command.
Much to his surprise - Daisy was possitively glowing. She was content the Marines were doing
their job and doing it well and she was entirely focused on her work.
"Lt. Varn, Ensign Stormweather - record every aspect of this process for the beginnings of a medical
database for the Durali." Daisy called out - leaning over a male body with a tricorder.
"Commander?" Martha blinked - looking up from her console.
"Well, these people won't know anything about the bodies we're making them and how they work."
Daisy smiled. "After so long being trapped in that 'void' I heard about - being completely without
physical bodies - they barely even remember their own physiology. They'll need medical training
to understand how to take care of themselves."
She hadn't noticed Colonel Williams was standing there until the Marine coughed loudly and then
said, "Commander Davidson, report."
Daisy smiled. She even looked genuinely glad to see him. He couldn't help feeling surprised by
her calm and comfortable approach. Away from the station, deeper in Dominion territory and
in a situation where most "Command level" Starfleet types would be nervously itching to challenge his
authority and attempt to take control for themselves - she actually looked 'relieved'.
He could feel her energy - how much more relaxed and comfortable she was in her own skin when
she had to report to him rather than being the one other people reported to. She was actually glad
NOT to be in charge of everything for a change as she proceeded with a full report of how her work
with Lt. Varn and Ensign Stormweather was going.
The Marine found himself giving her a smile and a nod of approval, "Good job, Commander."
Daisy beamed, smiling back at him, "Thank you, sir. Anything else?"
He grinned, "That'll be all, Commander."
Still smiling, Daisy nodded and then turned towards Ensign Stormweather, "Martha, darling -
make a note to double check the P10 gene of the third primary generation. I've already some
benign tumors and one thyroid malignancy. These are easily treatable - but it would be better
to avoid them from the start. "
"Damn - how did I miss that?" the young native American woman moaned.
"Oh, don't beat yourself up, darling." Daisy replied gently. Then, she chuckled. "They'll
probably build a statue of you in a village just the same - because you've endowed the men
like freaking holoporn stars."
"I wasn't aware you were a fan of holoporn, Commander." Martha replied - grinning.
"The fact they men are well-endowed, Commander....." Hunter smirked from the doorway,
"Is because the DNA that helped create them came from my Marines."
Daisy rolled her eyes and chuckled. Then, she gave him a crisp salute. "Aye, sir. Now,
kindly let us get back to work, please."
Once he was gone, Daisy rolled her eyes yet again and chuckled to Martha, "Men!"
Thomas scoffed, "Ladies? Hello?! I'm still here. Kindly avoid bashing my gender
while I'm still in the room."
Martha smiled sweetly, "Sorry, sir - didn't mean to offend you."
"Oh, he's fine, Ensign....." Daisy quickly assured Martha, speaking for Thomas. She
gave her science officer a little wink and then teased him, "Little boy blue just
needed to blow his horn..."
Thomas groaned - remembering the blue tint to his skin from his encounter with Xana
in the tub of goo and blushed - bringing an even deeper shade of blue to his face.
Both women giggled and then they all went back to work.

NRPG:
I think we can basically call this R&R. We can work leisurely over the next couple weeks making trips back and forth to the cloning facility for bodies and doing transfers for the Durali and having time for more personal interactions.
Justin will be writing our next mission opener. Don't ask me what it's about!! I asked Justin to surprise me because I trust him to put together a mission we'll all be able to enjoy :) I like surprises - and I hope you guys do, too.
I wanted to encourage you all to think of mission ideas. I'm not particularly interested in actually "controling" the direction of the Station's storyline so much as coordinating everyone's efforts so that all of you get the chance to take part in shaping the future of your station.
Justin's mission will start in approximately 2 weeks - or mid-October. During that mission will be a good time for those among you to consider possibly doing a mission after Justin. If no one steps up to volunteer for that mission - I'll write it myself.
Thanks! And, Tag - everyone!
