Con't from Rahul's post

Location: ESPERION
Scene: Underground

"Air's stale in here." Harris muttered as he watched Daniel shifting from
Cindy over to Kyle.

Clarkson glanced at his patient first, noting the rocks that had fallen
across his legs, almost up to his hips.

"Kyle, wake up." Daniel said after the survey and gently nudged the young
man, trying to rouse him to consciousness without hurting him further. He
didn't know how hurt he was, and he definitely did not want to make things
worse, but he needed Kyle awake, because he was lying on his pack.

And Daniel needed what was in those packs.

Calhoun groaned and opened his eyes. He was faintly surprised to see Daniel
in front of him,. "Clarkson…what are you doing here?"

"We found you two, but we need to get back to the ship. I don't suppose you
have pattern enhancers in your pack?" The medic asked. It was the only
way they could move all five of them to safety. Otherwise, there was a real
risk that a manual extraction could cause further falls.

"Never leave home without them." Kyle struggled to sit up and reach for his
pack. His efforts here hampered by the rocks that partially covered him. "I
need to get these rocks off." He didn't even want to know how much weight
was on his legs, but he could feel them and sensed they were still
functional, just trapped.

"No, I don't think we should move them. It could destabilize the
area." Clarkson
pulled his field knife and cut through the straps of Kyle's pack. Daniel's
fingers nearly slipped in the cold air, but he sawed away grimly at the
straps until they broke free. "Hang tight and we'll try and get beamed
from here." He said as he gently eased the pack from Kyle.

"Need to contact the Patriot first." Harris reminded Clarkson.

"Use the tricorder's powercell to charge the frequency strength. Wire both
of them up in series, and that should do it." Daniel told the other marine
while he quickly set up the pattern enhancers in the small cavern. He had
to make sure they were all in its field, otherwise, it wouldn't do to leave
a limb behind.

While Harris fiddled with that, Daniel finished that task and went to check
Cindy over again. It was taking a while for her to rouse, but he couldn't
say he was too concerned. He couldn't feel any contusions to her skull,
nothing to indicate serious injury.

Somewhere along Harris's attempted MacGyvering of the com badge signaling
device, he had sent out a generalized interruption in the radio frequency. The
interference was dynamic enough to cause someone to sit up and take note.
[[Kenta to Clarkson…is that you?]] Their executive officer's voice
crackled, popped and hissed over the poor linkage, but it was the best they
had heard in a while.

"Yes, sir. We're underground." Daniel replied giving Harris a thumbs up
signal. It wasn't great, but it did the job.

[[We've been trying to find you for several hours.]] Kel pipped up. His
voice distorted badly for a moment, before coming through a lot more
clearer. They were obviously tweaking their signal as well to facilitate
communication.

"We've been trying to get out for several hours. We've found Rochemonte and
Calhoun, both are probably injured. We've set up the pattern enhancers, and
am trying to contact the Patriot for a beam out." Clarkson activated the
pattern enhancers and double checked their accuracy.

[[We can use my com badge to re-route the signal. Hang on. Kenta out.]] Ben
killed off the communication so he could contact the Patriot.

Clarkson gestured for Palthanion to stand by him. "Priest Palthainon, it
would be my honor to introduce you to my wife." Something in his gut told
him that was no empty statement.
