The first Shamrock and Leprechaun themed gift basket for the Aspinall
twins arrived with a gleeful smirk from the Prophecy's own Cade Foster.
He shared Daisy's perverse pleasure as he thought of everyone imposing
the Irish holiday on the newborn sons of the very British Peter Aspinall.

His encounter with the Chief Operations officer of the PATRIOT made
him smile. He liked strong, beautiful women. Long before Daisy had
become XO...Foster had shamelessly followed after Captain Zanders.
Cheerfully, on more than one occasion....he'd offered to shag the
lovely Captain silly.

Though many had offered him their sympathy when the events on
ANDALUSIA left him needing a medical retirement, Civilian status
actually suited him. He'd never really been much of an officer. He
loved medicine and science first and foremost. The uniform was just
something he tolerated, as he put it, because "Chicks dig a man in
uniform".

He went to Daisy's room and found Peter sleeping in a chair by
an empty bed. Dressed in civilian clothes, he came back to the
nurse's station and demanded,

"Is there a problem with Daisy?"

Though he still loved rattling Maddie Zanders by reponding to her
orders with "Yes my queen." and talking outrageously to her around
the rest of the crew...he and Daisy had been spending more and more
time together since Daisy became XO.

The Bajoran nurse was distracted and muttered simply while
pointing to her left...

"Slow labor - got her walking laps. She went *that* way with Dr. Jos..."

The older man rolled his eyes and groaned. "Damned leprechauns,
taking their sweet time, aren't they?"

The Bajoran nurse blinked. "What's a leprechaun?"

Cade smirked and shoved the gift basket in her direction. It
was filled with infant clothes that were either green or white
with shamrocks...little plush leprechaun toys and plush
Shamrock pillows.

"Read and learn..."

Her eyes widened and then she smiled. "Oh, it's a...what's the
old earth country? An Irish thing? I didn't know the Aspinalls
were Irish!"

Laughing softly, Cade gleefully lied, "As Irish as they come..."

Then, he headed around the corner to look for Daisy.

The pregnant woman was standing calmly next to Aerdan. She
leaned against the wall, her eyes closed...doing lamaze breathing.

Aerdan tried to be consoling and put his hand on her shoulder.

Sweating, she snapped. "Don't touch me."

The Andorian pulled back patiently. "Right, not touching."

Cade looked questioning at Aerdan who simply replied
"Ten minutes apart."

"And currently in the "Don't touch me" mood....." Cade
grinned.

The pregnant woman's lower lip quivered and she looked
tired as the contraction began easing away. She glanced
at Cade and he quickly held up his hands in a gesture of
surrender. "Don't worry - not going to touch you...."

Glad to see him, her eyes welled up and she promptly
threw herself forward and hugged him tightly.

Surprised, he laughed awkwardly. "Ok, not wanting to
be touched one minute and hugging people the
next...you are *definately* in labor...."

Sighing, she rested her head on his shoulder for a
few seconds. Exhaustion setting in...she began to literally
fall asleep on her feet. He felt her begin to stagger and
hugged her tightly.

  Aerdan quickly shook her awake.

"Come on, Daisy...we gotta keep walking.

She groaned. "I don't wanna walk anymore. I want to
take a nap...."

"Lazy cow." Cade teased, hoping to annoy Daisy
awake.

Matthew came walking towards them. He looked
fatigued.

"Everything ok?"

The worried look on the face of Peter's husband motivated
Daisy more than being scolded by Cade. She
forced her eyes open and smile weakly - wanting to reassure
Matthew.

"Yeah...just catching my breath....more laps to come..."

At the other end of the corridor, Irene Aspinall and Madeline
Boone stepped out of turbo lift. The two older women both
paused when they realized the surrogate mother of their
grandchildren was standing there - still pregnant.

Madeline came up to her son to ask how things were going
as Irene went straight to Daisy.

The timid Andorian had to sit patiently through even more
embarrassing "personal information" as Irene gently gave
Daisy a consoling hug and began sharing horror stories of
what a difficult birth experience she had with Peter when he
was born.

The polite Andorian avoided eye contact with Peter's Mom as
she boasted how much fun Peter was as a baby. It was sweet
to hear how happy she was counting his little fingers and
toes.

Naturally, though....while Peter was sleeping near Daisy's
hospital bed and couldn't stop her....Irene took glee in making
Daisy laugh with stories of how a newborn Peter had the the
cutest little "winkie" and what fun it was while he was a baby
to nibble on his ticklish "Bum".

Kate approached as Matthew, smirking...bragged Peter still
had a ticklish "Bum".

Foster just listened silently, a big grin. He was relishing every
embarrassing story he could get from listening to Peter's
mother. They were going to be great fun to share with the
rest of the crew....

Kate smiled at Aerdan. "I've got a Cesarean transport ready
just incase we need it with the second baby...."

She couldn't help noticing how relieved Aerdan was to see her.
He smiled and nodded.

"Good, do me a favor and take the next lap? "

Matthew interrupted, "Wait, why do you think you might
need a cesarean for the second baby?"

"One baby is head down and ready to go...." Daisy sighed.
  "....the other is sideways..."

Matthew anxiously looked to Kate. "Should I go wake
  Peter?"

Kate sighed, considering another sedative for the other
  nervous father.

"I'll let you talk about that with Aerdan while Irene and Cade and I
walk another lap around the floor with Daisy, ok?"

Once Kate, Daisy and Dr. Foster were gone walking again
with more storie eagerly being told by Peter's mother....Matthew
  began firing questions at Aerdan.

Sighing and doing his best to answer them all...Aerdan groaned
inwardly and wished he could instead be doing some long, indepth
neurological surgery where the patient was sedated and his
beloved operating theater was free of the patient's relatives
  chattering at him.
