"Now what's wrong?" Daisy sat beside her and asked.

Lynette explained last night's episode, her drinking,
out of control dancing, but it was the final bit
that surprised Daisy most of all.

"It's terrible. I wasn't sure what to think. I
was freaking out. I don't remember much." Lynette
stood up from the couch and began pacing around the
room, her mind wracked with guilt and confusion.

"It was a huge shock, I woke up in his bed and was
freaking out. I got dressed and made a quick break.
I didn't know where to go, but I knew where
you were staying. I needed someone to talk to."

"That's fine. But who's bed?" Daisy was concerned
and curious.

Lynette took a deep breath. Many times she would
open her mouth, but no sound came out. It was a
difficult thing to say.

"I think I slept with Cade."

Daisy blinked awkwardly, then squared her shoulders
and calmly replied. "Come with me." Then, she
guided the younger woman to the bedroom.

"Oh, god..." Lynette wimpered, obediently following.
"You're furious. You're going to kill me."

"Don't be stupid, Lieutenant." Daisy laughed flatly,
holding the younger woman's arm. "I'm going to give
you a proper medical exam and scan you for DNA, put
together a forensic profile of where you've been
and who you've been with incase you need to file any
criminal charges...."

Lynette pulled back, surprised. "I never said
anything about criminal charges!"

Daisy pulled a medical kit out of the closet and
looked back at Lynette, confused. "I don't understand.
Then, why are you here? I thought you were scared
you'd been taken advantage of in your intoxicated
state...."

Lynette found herself arguing, defending Cade.
"I never said I thought he was a monster. I just
didn't remember everything and I was embarrassed. I
thought I'd slept with your boyfriend...."

The younger woman looked flabbergasted when Daisy
lightly plopped the medical kit onto the bed
next to her and laughed.

"Is that what everyone thinks? That he's my
boyfriend?"

"You guys were living together for months..."
Lynette stammered sheepishly.

"Not that it's any of your business...." Daisy
began to chide the young woman gently. "But,
I'm a doctor and I'm his friend."

Lynette hung her head and looked ashamed. "Well,
I'm your friend, too - and when I thought
I'd done something to damage that..."

Daisy rolled her eyes and groaned. Then, she
explained..."He was still recovering from what
happened on the DAGOSIN mission. The man was
not well enough to live alone - but well enough of a
pain in the ass to be a disruption in sickbay. I put
him in my bed and I slept on that big, comfy couch in my
livingroom so I didn't have to worry about Dr. Jos
one day completely 'losing it' and shoving
Cade out the nearest airlock."

Lynette protested. "You're lying to spare my
feelings...I've seen how you guys are together.
You're..."

"We joke around." Daisy scolded her. "We flirt.
And I wouldn't "lie to spare your feelings" if
I thought as you'd put it, that you'd slept with
my boyfriend. I wouldn't even be speaking to you
at all. I'd leave you here and go strangle him
and leave it at that."

Confused, Lynette watched Daisy smoothly stand
and open her med kit.

"I still want to examine you.... hold still."
she ordered the younger woman calmly.

"Why are you being so nice to me? I thought
you'd hate me." Lynette sniffled.

"Not going to happen." Daisy replied calmly,
shaking her head. "I'm your XO, Lynette.
First thing I do when you come to me saying
you drank too much, you don't remember all
that happened and you're scared and
confused....is find the truth and
help you be ok with it."

"Even when it involves ....Cade?" she
groaned.

"The possibility of an intoxicated young woman
being taken advantage of?" Daisy almost
laughed. "Doesn't matter who the guy is. Helping
you come first. We'll make sure nothing inappropriate
happened to you, ok?"

"No, no, no, no..." Lynette protested again.
"I wasn't taken advantage of. I just thought I'd
done something stupid..."

"It's ok to have doubts....you're memory is fuzzy..."
Daisy admitted, staying neutral.

The much younger woman groaned uncomfortably and
admitted. "Foster is obnoxious and creepy and
really, really ...old. But, I never pictured him
the 'taking advantage' type...."

Daisy finished studying the tricorder reading and
laughed. "Watch it. He's only a few years older
than me."

Lynette's eyes widened and she gulped. "Sorry.
You don't look....I mean."

"I'll take that as a compliment." Daisy chuckled.

"Now, how about I tell you what happened?"

"You can do that, from scanning me?"

"From reading the trace DNA left on you, yes...."
Daisy smiled.

"Please tell me what happened!" The younger woman
begged.

"You kissed. I can tell you that much. There are
still epithelials around and inside your mouth."
Lynette touched her face like she wanted to go
drink a gallon of mouthwash. "The traces of his
DNA on your hands imply a hug. Then, a quick forensic
profile of the residuals on your clothes and the
trace patterns on your skin suggests he undressed
you and there's nothing to imply you were sexually
molested."

  "Really?" Lynette looked relieved.

"Oh, I'll be honest with you." Daisy admitted gently.

She returned the tricorder to it's case and said,
"If I know Foster...he probably thought about it and
maybe took it to 'second base' or so...and then
figured it would be more fun to just scare you. He
took it upon himself to try and scare you from
  ever drinking so heavily again..."

The relief turned to anger and she stood up in a
huff. "To scare me?"

"Yes, it's exactly the type of prank he would do....
to make you think you'd done something stupid....just
so he could laugh at you.... and stop you from your
  own destructive behavior"

  "I'll kill him." she hissed.

"I believe the appropriate responce would actually
be an assault charge." Daisy replied calmly. "And,
your case is already open and shut..."

"I wasn't raped." Lynette scoffed. "Is that still
assault?"

"Undressing you without your consent, invading your
privacy..." Daisy admitted coldly. "He went too
far with this little prank ....to have this laugh
at your expense....now, he's looking at brig time."

"I'll settle for an apology and a chance to punch
him in the face...." Lynette offered. "I just
thought I'd done something stupid and you would be
angry with me...."

"You *DID* do something stupid, Lynette...." Daisy
chided her. "You wrecklessly over-indulged in
alchohol and someone other than Cade could easily
have done far worse to you....in his own twisted
way, he probably thought he was protecting you,
taking you home with him. His little 'prank', though...
taking off your clothes without your permission,
that was wrong, too."

"I'm an adult." Lynette argued. "If I want to
drink..."

"To the point of blacking out?" Daisy argued right
back. "Dangerous and stupid and I want you getting
some counseling....as for Foster? Just a moment."
  Daisy tapped her comm badge.

"Commander Davidson to Dr. Cade Foster...."

His voice came through the comm system, dripping with
sarcasm and laughter. [[ "Yes....my queen ??? ]]

Lynette began yelling. "You rotten son of a bitch..."

[[ "Oh, is the poor little baby already there
crying to her Mommy? ]]

There was a smug little grin on Daisy's face as
she coldly informed him.

"You are ordered to stay where you are. I'm having
you arrested on assault charges....."

[[ "WHAT?! I never laid a hand on her...." ]]

"Yes, you did, Cade. Being a doctor does not mean
you can undress her without her...."

  [[ "I'm a doctor....she's got nothing I haven't
seen....]]

"Your little prank crossed the line." Daisy
replied. "I'll have Matthew there to take you
into custody shortly. We'll be leaving to go back
to our ship and I'm ordering you to spend the
next 30 days in our brig."

  [[ "No way! Can't she take a joke?" ]]

"Stay where you are. I'll get back to you."

The transmission ended, Daisy tapped her comm
badge once again.

"Commander Davidson to Lt. Matthew Aspinall....."

[[ "Yeah, Daisy...why so formal?" ]]

"Because I'm contacting you on official business....
I need you to make an arrest....you are to take
Cade Foster into custody immediately and he is to
begin a 30 day sentence in our brig as soon as it
can be arranged.."

[[ "Oh, god...please don't make me have that man
in my brig for 30 days...." ]] complained the
Chief of Security. [[ " I know he's your friend.
But he's soooo annoying....what did he do?" ]]

"It's an assault charge, Matthew."

She heard Matthew gulp distinctly and immediately
correct his previous statement. [[ "I'm on
my way, Commander. I'll have him in custody and
be ready to leave with you for GATEWAY immediately." ]]

"Thank you."

Once the transmission ended, Lynette sniffled
once more and almost whimpered. "I'm sorry."

  "Stop apologizing." Daisy scolded her.
Then, the XO promptly called Kate back into the
room.

"Dr. MacNeil. I want you to take Lynette and
go see Lara for a Counseling session....I must
get my children ready to leave... and contact
Captain Zanders...."

The suddenly formal tone of Daisy's voice gave
Kate chills. She immediately nodded and replied,

  "Aye, Commander..."

  NRPG:

Phillip, I felt strongly Cade wouldn't have truly taken sexual advantage of
Lynette. I hope you don't mind. But, I still wrote him doing something wrong
and he's getting Brig time for misdemeaner assault. I hope you like it.

Jamie - I hope you'll enjoy writing Aerdan reacting to Cade being in the
brig when we're back on the ship.

This post is the beginning of our crew getting ready to leave -if there is
anything left you want to do before you leave earth - do it now.

Naomi - sorry, I think we'll have to come up with something different
for Foster. Lynette ended up in his bed first. LOL
Perhaps you'd like to have your character happen to be
staying nearby when Matthew comes to arrest Cade? :)

Erik - looking forward to you getting our JP done! :)

Margie - TAG! VERY eager to see your next post!

  Peter - TAG! :)
