“What are you doing? You’re not coming with me.”
Aerdan whirled glaring at his brother in the
midmorning sun.

“Faw.” He waved a hand and blew him off.
“You’ve barely had any sleep and look like a train hit
you in the face. You need me.”

“I was called about this matter, not you.
Besides, Ishe needs you more.” the CsciO frowned.

“Ishe is at a sleepover with Marta, the girl she
used to play with while you were at the academy.”
Arjan fanned his fingers and let a slow smile cross
his face. “Besides, I can be quiet, I promise.”

Aerdan let his eyes fade into small slits. “One
peep and I’ll punch you.”

“I doubt that.” His brother chuckled as they made
their way to the transporter.

“Daisy, wait.” Maddie’s voice was sharp and not
to be trifled with; and still her XO kept walking.
The Vulcan hybrid paused for a second, leaning against
the wall and called again. “Commander Davidson, I
want to speak to you.” and after the slightest pause,
“Don’t make me make than an order.”

Slowly Commander Davidson turned, taking a second
to brush a lock of blond hair from her face. The
cover gave her just enough time to wipe the anger that
was boiling there into a shade of calm. She cleared
her throat before asking, “Yes, Captain?”

“Slow down for a second, I want to talk.” Maddie
started again, this time her voice had lost the
sharpness of command.

“If this is about Cade…” The tall blonde started.

Mad’hron Zanders caught her eyes and gave her a
piercing stare. “No, this is not about Cade.” She
cut off, leaving her XO to draw her own conclusions.

There was a fairly long pause, and finally Daisy
looked back evenly. “It’s about my decision
concerning Cade.”

The half Vulcan gave a slow nod. “Not that I
disagree that he needs to be reprimanded and punished.
I doubt the man has a clear concept of what other
people consider boundaries; but you seem a bit too
adamant in making sure he gets punished.”

“I want what is best for Lynette.” Daisy
countered hotly.

“I know, that’s why I’m meeting with Lynette in
ten minutes.” Zanders gave the hint of a smile.
Slowly she watched as Daisy Davidson considered this,
her cheeks tinging the slightest shade of pink.

“I still firmly believe that Cade will never
learn what boundaries he can and cannot cross unless
he goes through with this.” She repeated Maddie’s
sentiment forcefully.

The captain gave a slow nod. “I know. But in
the meantime you may wish to talk to Cade about this
for yourself.”

Slowly the XO gave a nod. “I will; but first I
really need some time away from him.” She gave one
last look back to Mad’hron and then continued her
walk.

Scene: Corridors outside the Containment area

Peter was pacing, watching Cade stew in his cell.
Turning to face the elder doctor he grimaced. “Why
did you do it, Foster?”

Cade folded his arms across his chest. “Haven’t
you ever heard of tough love?”

“Considering you have a sexual assault charge on
your head that isn’t very funny.” Matthew snapped from
the side of the room.

“I was trying to teach her a lesson!” Dr. Foster
countered, throwing his hands in the air. “Better
being shaken up by me than tossed into an alleyway and
raped by some of the guys she was dacing with.”

Peter rolled his eyes. “Emotionally there is
very little difference.”

“But there are no lasting consequences!” the
curmudgeonly man protested again.

“No lasting consequences for what?” The question
made all three men suck in a breath and turn, only to
sigh in relief when it was a familiar face that
appeared. Aerdan twined his antennae inwards, having
just turned the corner onto the conversation.

“Do you have any clue what he did?” Matthew
asked, thumbing towards the locked up doctor.

The Andorian blinked a few times. “I have no
clue, actually.”

“No, he’s just here to gawk like the rest of
you.” Cade snarled from the cell.

“Actually Captain Zanders called me here to talk
about something.” The CsciO replied, the corners of
his eyes tightening with confusion. “I didn’t expect
everyone else to be here…”

“Of course.” Cade made an unpleasant humphing
sound. “She had to drag everyone into this. Now I
suppose you’re all going to make my life more
miserable than it already is.”

“Well it would only be fair payback…” Matthew
muttered before he shushed, feeling both Peter’s and
Cade’s eyes on him.

“Wait, what is going on?!” Aerdan’s words were
clipped and frustrated.

Peter wasted no words getting to the point. “Dr.
Foster is in the brig for misdemeanor sexual assault
on Lynette Ryan.”

Dr. Jos’ jaw dropped. “You’re kidding…”

“He’s not.” The chief of security confirmed.

     “Is Lynette OK?”

The engineer nodded slowly. “She’s talking with
the Captain right now.”

     “Is everyone here?”

Peter nodded again. “Almost. I haven’t seen Dr.
MacNeill; but Daisy stormed off a while ago.”

“Because everyone needs to get involved.” Cade
rolled his eyes.

“Shut up.” Was the swift reprimand he earned from
Matthew. Slowly the cantankerous doctor fell silent
again.

“For your information, Doctor Foster, I am not
trying to get everyone involved.” Maddie’s voice was
strong and calm as it filtered down the hallway,
prompting Cade to mutter ‘Stupid Vulcan hearing’ under
his breath. One could almost see the words ‘I heard
that’ cross Maddie’s face but she said nothing as she
came to the corridor with Lynette following
afterwards. The half Vulcan perked a slim brow,
faintly surprised at the number of people suddenly
congregated in the hallway.

“Then what are you doing?” Cade asked, rising to
his feet.

“I am considering exactly how long I will keep
you here and what your stay will be like.” She replied
mildly.

“And what is factoring in to you considerations,
exactly?” Cade snapped back, folding his arms across
his chest.

“An apology to Lieutenant Ryan would be a good
start.” The Vulcan hybrid stated matter of factly.

“An apology?! To that little twit! Can’t anyone
realize I was trying to help?!” Cade threw his hands
up in disgust. “When do I get an apology?”

“I really don’t think you deserve an apology.”
Lynette replied evenly, her eyes were dark.

“What did he do?” Aerdan implored for the second
time.

Matthew leaned over to speak quietly, hoping he
was out of earshot from Lynette and Cade both.
“Lynette was drunk and Cade took her home from a seedy
nightclub. Then after she passed out he undressed her
and put her in his bed to make it look like the slept
together.”

Ever tactful, the CsciO dipped his antennae
downwards and frowned. “Is that such a bad thing?”

Like a slingshot, Cade’s arm snapped up and he
pointed at the Andorian. “See, someone agrees with
me! Even if it is the blue-Klingon.”

Aerdan narrowed his eyes, antennae tensing. “I’m
not saying that the way you set it up is right,
Foster. But on the other hand, Commander Davidson
would have probably done the same thing in your
shoes…”

The group fell silent, all of them staring at
their science officer. He tinged faintly purple and
for a second thought about hiding behind Arjan who was
calmly picking lint from out of his fingernails,
determined not to get involved. Maddie blinked
calmly. “What do you mean, Dr. Jos?”

He bit his lip slightly. “Just that basically
the same thing happened on Andalusia, only it was
exhaustion instead of drunkenness; and I found myself
undressed by the Commander.” His voice was soft,
trying not to make a big deal out of it.

“That little minx!” Cade spat to the back of his
cell. “But it never bothered you, right?”

He shrugged his blue shoulders slightly. “Cade
and Daisy are both doctors; as am I. Doctors undress
people… it’s part of their job.”

“You’re also a thirty three year old man who has
been married; and Daisy is around your age. Lynette
is a young woman who was drunk and Cade Foster is much
older.” Peter remarked factually. “Intentions aside
it still comes down to how things were perceived by
the person being undressed.”

Lynette shook her head slightly, frowning deeper
and deeper. She looked about ready to speak when
footsteps came from down the hall. Daisy turned the
corner to see a much bigger group of people gathered
around Cade’s cell than she had expected. “What’s
going on?” She asked lightly.

“Oh, we’re just debating how unfair it is for you
to stick me in here you hypocritical cow.” Cade hissed
from the back wall of his cell.

“What?” Daisy mouthed, her blue eyes tightening
with confusion. Behind her Lynette tapped Maddie on
the shoulder and whispered that she was going to go
back to her hotel room for a little while, to think.
Maddie nodded an assent while Daisy turned to stare at
the cantankerous doctor.

“And here I find out that you did some undressing
of your own last mission.” His mouth was chiseled into
a thin hard line.

Commander Davidson bypassed the rest of the group
to stare directly at Dr. Foster. “What are you
talking about?”

Cade smirked a little. “You deny undressing a
fellow crewmember last mission?”

“I didn’t…” She paused as her throught caught back
up to her and finally straightened to take a good look
around at who was gathered. Eyes scanning the group
she watched Peter and Matthew standing looking
defensive on her behalf, and Aerdan trying to quietly
slip away into the corner. Daisy let out a long
breath. “Dammit, Cade, that was professional!”

“And maybe my actions were too.” He snarled back.
“But it seems like I’m getting caught in a jealous
crossfire.”

“Foster…” Mad’hron Zanders warned, watching both
the former CMO and her XO’s faces keenly.

“No, Zanders, I have to ask this.” Cade moved
forward, almost trying to lean through the forcefield
that separated him from the others before he looked
over towards Daisy. “Am I here because you’re jealous
that I was with Lynette; or because I really truly did
something wrong?”

Daisy’s mouth dropped slightly at the accusation
and she felt red heat crawling up the sides of her
neck. “You are here because you overstepped someone’s
personal boundaries; and you will not be allowed to
think that skirting the line with sexual assault is
all right as a Starfleet officer or as a civilian.”
She replied firmly.

Very slowly Cade Foster took in a breath and
considered that. He nodded slightly. “Fine. I’ll
admit that.” He paused a little, “But are you sure
that this has nothing to do with jealousy?” He asked
the second question in a much softer tone, hopeing
that it could be kept somewhat private.

Daisy leaned back, mulling it over for a few
seconds as a voice came from the back of the corridor.
“No to interject or anything, but how can jealousy be
concerned over this incident when she’s dating another
man?” Arjan’s voice was curiously innocent, curious.

Daisy snapped her head towards him. “What?”

The talled Andorian fanned his fingers calmly.
“It’s none of my business, I’m not a voyeur… But with
all the works the rest of you have been at, I have had
little else to do but sit and watch who comes and
goes. I had assumed that you were dating the man you
had over to your hotel.”

There was a stony, uncomfortable pause in the
corridor, talk had stopped, breathing too it seemed
like. Aerdan slowly started to turn from blue to
navy, swearing under his breath that he was going to
kill his brother, while moving to stand in front of
him and implore Daisy not to punch him. Matthew bit
his lip, hating when deeply personal things were
suddenly dragged out to the surface, and the assistant
director simply stared at them all, not quite
understanding or empathizing with the entire
situation.

It was Cade who beat everyone to the punch. “You
slept with another man.” He spat.

“Why should that matter?” Peter asked lightly,
furrowing his brow. Cade and Daisy weren’t married –
they weren’t even technically dating.

“Cade… It’s no—“ Daisy started but was promptly
cut off.

“What? It’s nothing? It’s none of my business?
It’s not really real? Well, hell! Why don’t you just
come and rip out my heart too… it’s artificial, it’s
not really real either!” the elder human nearly
screamed, finally beating a fist into the forcefield
hard enough that it sent him flying backwards against
the back wall of the cell and left him groaning in
pain. Daisy sucked in a short breath and took a step
forward and Maddie walked out from the hallway she was
standing in and decided to take charge.

“I think everyone should disperse.” She suggested
in the way that implied that it wasn’t a suggestion
after all.

Peter and Matthew stood up, linking arms. Aerdan
turned towards Mad’hron and twisted his antennae
inwards. “Do you still need to talk to me, Captain?”
he asked quietly.

The Vulcan hybrid perked her head upwards
slightly. “I didn’t call you here, Dr. Jos…” she said
curiously.

“I got a call that said to meet you.” He replied,
starting to feel that this was somehow suddenly his
fault.

     “I don’t know…” Captain Zander’s voice was
interrupted by buzz of her commbadge and Lynette’s
frazzled voice.

[[Captain… has anyone else been to their hotel
rooms recently?]]

“No, Lieutenant, why do you ask?”

[[I think everyone should check. I just got back
to mine and it has been ransacked.]]

Whatever the mood had been seconds ago, suddenly
everything faded to focus. Maddie looked around at
her crew. “Peter and Matthew didn’t have a room at
the hotel; I’m sending them to your room immediately.”
The two nodded and the Captain looked off to the
others. “Go check, and meet up with me at Lynette’s
room.”

The others dispersed, leaving Cade standing in
the cell. “What about me?’ He whined slightly.

“Are you all right?” Mad’hron asked

“Yes, I’m fine.” He gave a short huff.

     “Then you’ll be safe here.”

Location: EARTH
Scene: San Fransisco: Lynette’s hotel room

Commander Davidson has the benefit of people in
her room for breakfast. Doctors MacNeill, Foster and
Jos weren’t so lucky. All three rooms bore the same
signs of ransacking as Lynette Ryan’s did. Matthew
stood with his arms folded across his chest, watching
Lynette slowly start to pick things up. Maddie stood
by the window, contacting the hotel and other
officials.

“It looks like someone wanted us all out of these
rooms.” The chief of security observed.

“But who? And why?” Peter sounded frustrated and
tired.

Lynette stood, brushing her shirt down. “I don’t
know who enacted it, but I can say almost certainly
who gave the order.”

     “Who?” Peter asked again.

“Rennerman. If he wants something he’ll stop at
nothing to find it… but tracing his tracks isn’t
easy.” Lynette replied bitterly.

“And what does he want?” Matthew asked, furrowing
his brows.

Maddie clicked off her communication and turned
to the assembled. “Proof of PROPHECY, I would wager.”
