"Coming on board"

  Location: SB1
  Stardate: 2.70403.1621
  Scene: Shuttle Dock

T'ial stepped through the shuttle's airlock and onto the Star Base. She looked to either side for a moment, trying to become familiar with her surroundings. Over her shoulder, she carried a black duffle-bag filled with clothes and a few personal items for hygiene. **Ensign Tam, where are you?** T'ial continued to look to either side of her, expectantly, waiting for her ex-roommate. "Time," she said firmly as she tapped her commbadge. The badge responded with a chirp, followed by a time. "I suppose I'm early," she concluded as she tightened her grip on her dufflebag and stepped in towards the base. A slight rumbling in her stomach told her it was time to receive nourishment. She headed towards the nearest Replimat to find something to eat. As she looked around at her options, she felt a slight sense of disgust, nothing seemed appealing. "A fruit juice and a salad will settle me." She thought it over for a brief second and then ordered the machine to replicate the meal.

"What type of salad?" The machine asked back.

   "Any type," T'ial answered.

"What type of dressing?" The contraption asked once more.

  "Random choice," she ordered.

"What type of fruit juice?" T'ial sighed and walked away from the machine, figuring she could order something later, perhaps when she wasn't trying to find Ensign Tam Niala.

"Cancel order," T'ial yelled back to the machine as she walked away.

She thought it would be best if she returned to the dock, where she had agreed to meet Tam. Just as she had begun to go underway, she looked ahead into the distance and spotted a familiar figure standing by the dock.

"Ensign Tam Niala." T'ial moved closer until the figure was close within her line of vision. Tam turned around at the sound of T'ial's voice.

"T'ial, I'm glad you made it here safely." Tam Niala nodded with little sign of emotion on her face.

"How would I not arrive safely?" T'ial asked as she cocked her head slightly to one side.

"Nevermind." Tam shook her head. "Do you know where you are staying?"

T'ial shook her head no. "I was given a slip with my assigned quarters. I have not gotten a chance to look over it as of yet." T'ial reached into her bag and rummaged around until she withdrew the PADD and handed it to Tam. "Have a look," she said as she closed up her bag.

Tam looked over the information. "We're on the same deck, it seems. I can take you there, you are only a few doors down from my quarters."

"We're not assigned roommates?" T'ial asked, with some slight dissapointment.

"No, this is not the case." Tam replied as she handed T'ial her PADD back. "As senior officers we have our own quarters."

"All right, let us head there." T'ial tightened her grip on her duffle-bag and prepared to follow Tam Niala.

"I can show you to your office as well. You have your own." She began walking off, with T'ial walking briskly behind her
