Cont. from Katie's "Leaving the Nest"
  -----------------------------------------------------
  Location: USS PATRIOT
  Stardate: 2.70512.1303
  Scene: Counselor's Office

Tam settled behind her desk, relaxing into the cushions. She was glad to be back in her small office; she wasn't much of a person for away missions, especially ones as odd as that last one had been. She couldn't blame T'ial for being put out (at least as much as a Vulcan ever was) over having to fire phasers. While everyone was given basic training, that didn't mean everyone was good at it, or even liked doing it. T'ial apparently fell into one of the latter categories. Tam herself would have preferred not to go, but with the lack of a CMO onboard, she had a feeling that she was going to be tapped for a great deal of them.

And now going right back to Earth? Tam was starting to wonder about how tight a rein Starfleet kept on Captain Jones. If they kept going back and forth like this... But it wasn't her worry. She had things to concern herself with that were more closely affiliated with her actual job. For instance, she still had to speak to several of the senior staff about their psych profiles-- Maverick and Jones were apparently notoriously hard to pin down-- and the rumors about a new senior staff member meant even more work for her, and, if the new person was anything like the rest of the crew, more trying to track him or her down. **At least the Marines are cooperating,** she told herself, pulling up the list of those she still had to talk to.

Her musings were interrupted when the chime sounded on her door. "Come in," she called, quickly closing the list- patient confidentiality and all that. She was surprised to see Clarkson coming in, looking haggard. Of course he had to have been stressed with his wife in danger, but she hadn't realized it would still be affecting him, since Sterling-Jade was already on the mend. "Can I help you?"

His smile was tired and forced. "Yes, actually."

NRPG: And that's all I can write! I'm almost out of time, so I'm going to have to stop. Hi, Kate, welcome aboard!
