"Strange Things Indeed"

Con't from Rahul's "Interrogation"

Location: USS PATRIOT

Scene: Corridor

Tellah couldn't explain it. She didn't - couldn't - understand how some
people were seeing apparitions of the planets inhabitants. There was no
logical explanation that could explain it.

And that flustered the unusually icy operations officer. Cal hated things
that escaped explanation. Because everything had to be based in reality, and
had to follow the laws of the universe. And it was the fact that she
couldn't connect the dots and figure it out was an anthema to her.

The Anarian stalked down the crowded corridor. Her expression was so
fierce, that anyone coming in the opposite direction would see her, and get
the hell out of her way. There had been a problem down in the cargo bay and
she had gone to see the Quartermaster.

Mission accomplished, she had to head back to the Bridge. En route, she was
savagely mauling her knowledge of black hole phenomena. She would not rest
until the solution to the problem came to her. The problem unfortunately
became a little more complex. She could understand the appearance of the
planet in the Earth's immediate location. But the phasing in and out of the
planet's inhabitants. That didn't make any sense.

"Let me go!" She heard the commotion before she saw it. "I want my
lawyer!" A voice brawled out. Tellah looked on as four security officers
frog-walked a mountain of a man down the corridor. Most likely towards the
brig.

She hid a sneer. Another Essentialist.

"You son of a bitch, this is assault!" He shouted. The civilian's eyes were
wide and wild. Half clouded in pain and fear as he tried to break free of
the crippling wrist locks.

Cal pressed herself against the wall as the gaggle of men taking up the
majority of the corridor surged past. "You can't arrest me for speaking my
mind!" With a surge, the mountain of a man shoved against one of the
guards, throwing him off. The lieutenant slammed into Tellah and the two
went down to the ground together, while the remaining security officers
regained control of their captive.

The young security officer scrambled off Tellah and looked at her. His baby
brown eyes, and brown hair, gave him a very young look. "Sorry Lieutenant."
He said quickly helping the Anarian onto her feet. Before she could snap
off a retort, he turned and sprinted to catch up to the prisoner.

Tellah shook her head and took a second to regain her composure. She had
hit her head against the wall, and it had hurt. The operations officer
scowled, then the expression on her face changed. Maybe literally, but the
pieces in of the puzzle clicked into place.

She knew how to solve the dilemma.

Maverick had been coming down the corridor and raised an eyebrow when he saw
Tellah uncharacteristically staring at the wall. Her gaze was unfocused.
"What's the matter?" He asked.

He saw reality come back to her. "If we can enlist all of the available
ships to surround the planet and create warp bubbles, it will force the
time-space continuum to stabilise, and strengthen. Theoretically, we can
force the planet back through the opening. And to fix the time dilation, we
need tachyon particles. A lot of them. We can literally patch that hole in
space by bending the fabric around the rip and forcing it against the rip.
It could work." She said quickly, her mind racing ahead, running through
all of the theories and ideas and consequences.

"Want to repeat, I missed that." Maverick blinked.
