"Hey, Mommy!" Erika beamed.
{{ "Hi, honey!" }} Daisy smiled. She was dressed
in civilian clothes and wearing a red "Santa hat"
with white fur trim. {{ I'm so excited
to see you!" Are you looking forward to Christmas?" }}
Erika nodded enthusiastically. Then, laughed as she
saw Gavi stand behind Daisy's chair and quietly put
up two fingers, giving Daisy "Bunny ears".
Instinctively, Daisy twirled her chair around, grabbed
her son and began tickling him. Gavirosh giggled and
waved at the screen to Erika, {{ "Hey, Snotface!" }}
Erika waved, "How ya doing, Boogerbrain?! Where's
LJ?"
Way too cool and sophisticated to be bothered with
standing infront of the monitor and still brooding
over Daisy dragging him to go see JT...LJ answered
from the other side of the room by loudly playing
a few notes of a Christmas song on his guitar. Erika
raised her voice and yelled back, "Hi, LJ! I've
missed you."
Their conversation was interrupted by a beeping of
the comm system on Daisy's shuttle.
Daisy blinked, surprised. Then, she said....
{{ "Honey, I'm sorry....I have another message
coming in....I'll call you right back, ok?"}}
"Ok, Mommy...I'll see you soon..."

Location: Davidson shuttle
Scene: Main cabin

Daisy hushed Gavi and LJ while she ended her chat with
her daughter and switched over to the incoming transmission
from Captain Kenta.
His first glance of Daisy made him smile. She looked calm,
relaxed and ready for a long holiday with her children.
Noticing his promotion, she grinned.
"Captain Kenta, huh? Good for you...."
Ben gently raised a hand to interrupt her and she paused.
{{ "Doctor Davidson, I need to inform you that you'll
have to rondezvous with us at DS3 as quickly as possible." }}
Taking her que from him, she kept the tone of their
conversation professional. Her posture stiffened
respectfully and she replied in a calm voice. "Of course,
Captain. Is everything ok?"
Ben's face twitched only slightly. He still cared for Daisy
and didn't enjoy the idea of taking her away from her kids
during the holidays. Still, he swallowed his emotions and
did what was needed for the mission.
{{ "It's fortunate that you were already planning a visit
to our ship - however, we'll need you to make arrangements
for your children to stay on DS3 and be prepared to report
for duty on the PATRIOT immediately." }}
Daisy's jaw dropped and her eyes widened. She stammered...
"W-wait...what?!"
{{ "Affective immediately, you are to be the Chief
Medical officer of the USS PATRIOT." }} Ben replied
flatly.
"Excuse me?" Daisy scoffed indignantly. Then, she
started laughing. "This is a joke, right?"
{{ "You have your orders, Commander." }} Ben spoke
firmly.
Daisy narrowed her eyes and quickly asked him,
"Ben, what's happened?"
His face softened a bit and he sighed. {{ "You'll
be briefed when you arrive - just report to duty as
soon as you can, Daisy." }}
Her own face softened when he called her by name
and she gave him a gentle smile.
"You can count on me, Ben. I'll just need to contact
Erek to change his coarse and take care of Gavi and
LJ for me..."
Captain Kenta gave her a quick smile and then he
stiffened back to his more professional posture and
replied,
{{ "Thank you, Dr. Davidson... I'll be notifying Captain
Alcedo accordingly..." }}

Taylor - I hope you don't mind that Daisy wouldn't bring her kids with her
into danger. LJ, Gavi and Erika will stay on DS3 until GATEWAY has been
retaken and then they'll join their Mom there. In the meantime - I'm psyched to see
Mav and his "Moo" on the same ship again for a little bit. :)
Erik - I hope this does nicely for what you and I discussed.
Jamie - have fun writing Cade find out that Captain Kenta has yanked Daisy away for a mission, being all depressed and abusing the STONE Crew accordingly. *Snigger*
