Scene: Shuttlebay
Time index: After the Wangel and Davidson shuttles
have boarded and after Mav's dinner with his family
Stardate: 2.712071544

Wangel Erek, Daisy, Stefanie and the kids were all
still walking around the shuttles, sorting out their
belongings and stretching their legs. Erek
pulled Daisy aside to discuss the surprise change
in their plans.
"I should come with you." Insisted Wangel Erek. His
attractive green eyes were darkened with worry. Lines
of concern sharpened his rugged features.
Her hand on his shoulder, Daisy chided him gently.
"Bad idea. Erika needs her father."
Erek leaned against the hull of the shuttle. "Daisy,
Christmas is a human holiday and you're the human
parent - not me. If Erika has to be away from one
of her parents right now...."
Daisy groaned and tugged at the neck of her uniform.
Then, she sighed and replied in a frustrated
whisper. "For heaven's sake, I'm not talking
about Christmas, Erek. We can have a Christmas
celebration later..."
A few yards away, LJ walked awkwardly around Wangel
Erek's lovely girlfriend, Stefanie. His Guitar strapped
to his back, the teenage boy kept his hands in his
front pockets and usually stared at the floor until
Erika grabbed his wrist and whined.
"Say hi, LJ....use your words like you do when Mom's
around." the little girl moaned. "Stefanie's nice."
LJ shrugged and wrote on his comm pad. "Didn't you
hear them, snotface? Mom's leaving."
Erika shrugged innocently. "Mom leaves a lot. That's
part of being in starfleet. Just means she'll feel guilty
and bring me bigger and better presents when she gets
back. "
LJ groaned, annoyed and started to walk away. Erika,
with no clue about the gravity of what was going on,
just blinked and looked up at Stefanie.
"Why is he mad at me?"
A few yards away, Daisy whispered to Erek,
"It could be dangerous...you're a civilian now...."
"But, the Prophets...." Erek spoke softly. "Something
is happening with the prophets, Daisy. I've been in
touch with Vadek Tabor and Vadek Araqu...they've had such
dreams, they are certain something is about to happen."
Daisy frowned and studied his face for a second.
"I want to be there..." Erek almost pleaded. "You could
ask Captain Kenta. I know he'd let you bring me..."
"No." Daisy insisted. "Not until I know I can keep
you safe."
He stepped back and gently laughed. "You do realize
I was a Starfleet officer long before you? I think I
can handle myself."
Daisy grinned. "I don't care what you were or when.
We have a daughter and, for her sake, I'm not risking
both our lives at the same time."
Erek sighed. "I know you're right. I can take her and
the boys back to BAJOR..."
Gavi had slipped away from the others and snuck around the
other side of the shuttle so to eavesdrop on Daisy and
Erek. Suddenly, he threw himself forward and wrapped
his arms around his adoptive Mother's waist.
"Mom, you can't go. You can't leave me like my Dad did."
Daisy groaned and hugged Gavi tightly. Then, she
dropped to one knee so she'd be eye to eye with her
son.
"Gavi....you have to look at me. You have to listen, ok?"
Sniffling, he shook his head. "No, Dad left and he never
came back."
Daisy kissed his forehead and sighed.
" I have to go, Gavi..."
"But why?" he whined, tears forming.
"Because we can't just go through our lives only thinking
about ourselves and our own personal happiness, Gavi..."
Daisy sighed, brushing away his tears. "We have to care
what happens to other people ....like Izzy. Remember Izzy?"
Gavi smiled through his tears and replied. "Yeah."
All Daisy's kids adored the lovely Ensign Izshlana Vort from
the USS STONEHENGE. "She lost her family when we lost
access to GATEWAY station. And there are hundreds of
little boys and girls just like you and Erika and LJ who
have parents that were on GATEWAY station. Picture all
those kids just like you who have been missing their
folks for months...picture that sad look on Izzy's face
every time she'd talk about her home and her family..."
Daisy sighed.
He sniffled. " That would be cool to bring Izzy's
parents back to her. As long as you come back to me.
ok?"
Daisy grinned. "Don't I always?"
"And then, we'll go home, right?" Gavi asked.
"We'll go back to the STONEHENGE."
Because of their romantic history, Daisy knew Ben
wouldn't have ordered her to step up
in the PATRIOT's sickbay unless it was an emergency.
For that reason, she was certain Ben would approve
her getting a transfer back to the STONEHENGE as soon
as possible. So - she pulled Gavi into a hug and
held him tightly.
"Where else would we go, huh?" she laughed softly,
"We can't stay away from Uncle Peter, Uncle Matthew,
Jackie and the twins for too long or they'll be lost
without us."
"And Cade." Gavi grinned. "Cade is funny."
LJ walked towards her and held out his comm padd
with the words "Bajor, then?" written on the
screen.
Daisy stood up and sighed. Then, before she could
speak...she heard the sound of Mav bellowing from
the shuttlebay doorway.
"MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"
She didn't even have to look. Nobody else called
her that but Mav. Even the horrible prospect of going
into a war zone couldn't take away from the smile that
always spread across her face when her favorite
Marine bellowed out his nickname from across the
room.
Forgetting about her uniform for a moment, and the
obligations that go with it regarding how an adult
professional should behave....Daisy turned, ran
towards the marine, jumped up and threw herself into
his arms. She laughed as he twirled her around in
a massive power hug and then gently lowered her
back to the ground with sarcastic comments indicating
that she needed to go on a diet because she was
getting fat.
She laughed and smacked him lightly across his chest
and shoulders. Then, she said, "It's great to see you,
I just wish it hadn't turned out like this."
"Me, too." The Marine replied with a grunt.
Then, he glanced over at LJ and smiled.
"The boy looks good."
Daisy beamed with pride. "Yes he does. But what
about you? Joshua...."
"JT" Mav corrected her.
"Right." Daisy paused. "JT..." then, she
teased. "is he taking care of you ok?"
Mav scoffed. "Him taking care of me?!?"
She chuckled. "I'm just teasing. You're
a good Dad. That's one of the things I love best
about you..."
"You mean when you're not lusting after my body?!"
grinned the Marine.
Daisy groaned and rolled her eyes, laughing weakly.
Then, she just changed the subject.
"I'd hoped to get our boys together over the holidays...
but Erek offered to take the kids back to BAJOR..."
"Yeah..." Mav nodded. Then, he scratched his head
and gave her a little smirk. "Think he'd be willing
to go somewhere else instead?"
Daisy blinked. "What did you have in mind?"

Wangel Erek, his girlfriend and Daisy's kids will go with Mav's family
so LJ and JT will still be together over the holidays. Just wanted to
get that taken care of before we get further into things. :)

Erik - after this, I'll probably go ahead and start putting my posts in
the GATE archive - so that Daisy's journey from a temporary member of
this crew to commander of the station is covered - but here's another one
for you guys, like you requested. LOL
