It didn't take long before Daisy was found.
Having to improvise in terms of wardrobe, she
was left looking a little like an unmade Nausican
bed.
The clothes she'd taken from the closet were way
too big for her. The shirt and the robe fit her
like a strangely lopsided dress. She'd taken a
belt and tied it in a knot around her waist to
attempt atleast a little bit of order to the
make-shift ensemble.
Her bare feet were dirty from the areas of rubble
she'd walked through. Kate's beagle had tripped
her up a few times as he twirled around, sniffing
her ankles and jumping up, begging her to put
down the cat she was carrying.
Two armed men in uniform appeared,
"Put your hands up!!!"
Daisy only partially complied. She held tightly
to Bel and raised her one free hand.
"Miss - put the animal down and raise your hands."
She ignored the order and asked a question.
"Where are the Svenson boys? Who is taking care
of little Dahlia?"
One of the man slapped his comm badge and said,
"Colonel Maverick - we found a woman fitting
one of the descriptions given for Dr. Davidson?"
[[ "Long-legged blonde and annoying in general?" ]]
came Mav's voice over the comm.
Daisy heard Mav's question and snapped, "Bite me, you
ass!! Tell them to lower their guns right now!"
Mav's laughter rippled through the general area and
he ignored your rudeness. [[ "Figures you'd be
ok, you're too annoying to get yourself killed. ]]
The men lowered their guns as Daisy, still carrying
Bel...leaned closer to the badge on one man's chest.
"I found some other animals in the quarters where
I was taken." Daisy began. "I think they were
stolen from a science labs and I have Gene's missing
cat with me. I'm sure his kids will be glad to
see her. Kate's dog, too. Some of the Nausicans
were going to have them for dinner. "
[[ "Ahem....ewww." ]]
"Yeah...I'll make sure some more portable replicators
are distributed once I've had a shower and I'm
back in uniform."
[[ "Are you nekkid?" ]] the Marine laughed.
"Not exactly." Daisy replied awkwardly.
[[ "That's disappointing. " ]]
"Go to hell."
The security officer interrupted. "Your orders, sir?"
[[ "Get her back to the medical area safely and see
that the animals are found and returned....]]
"Yes, sir."
Looking rumpled and disheveled, Daisy said gave the
younger men a sweet smile.
"I guess you boys are walking me home, then."
One of them blinked for a second and asked, "How did
you get away from the Nausicans, Dr. Davidson?"
She gave him an awkward look and replied, "Yeah, I
really don't want to talk about that...."
They both paused. "If anyone was harmed - we should
make sure they get medical attention....."
She rolled her eyes and groaned. Then, she laughed
weakly.
"They're fine, ok? I just showed them a few tricks I
learned from my son, LJ...."
The men escorted Daisy back to the medical area - but
sent another team to retrieve the missing animals she'd
described and take the two Nausicans into custody....

NRPG: I apologize for this post being so short - but it's the weekend and my
kids are home so I don't have much time today.
Also - I should remind you guys that two of my kids are now on Christmas
Vacation from school. Beth's last day of school is next week - so my
time for posting will be much less than it was when my kids all went to
school during the day.
Ken and Sarah - I hope you guys like that I used Bel. :)
Joy and Rahul - TAG! I hope you'll be posting Jeff and Kat stepping up
for little Dahlia.
Ran - your post was very funny. :)
Erik - I hope you can continue with your plans from here.
Peter - talk to Erik. :P
Kat - I'm glad you're home and I hope you can make up for me not being
able to write that much over the next week or two.
