"Imagining Things"
Cont. from "120"
------------------------
Location: USS PATRIOT
Stardate: 2.80504.1339
Scene: Holodeck

Tam sighed lightly as Maverick walked off- stalked off- to get another drink. Admittedly, she had messed up, but she really doubted that the holodeck's programming would allow them to come to harm. Then again, if the programming had already glitched enough that they were trapped in the holodeck... Really, anything could happen.

She felt someone brush past her, and turned to look, but there was no one there. Frowning, she turned back and nearly jumped when she found herself facing Catherine, who looked past her then focused on her face. "See something?"

"Oh. No, I didn't, why?"

"Just wondering. I felt like I got bumped, too, and I didn't see anyone." She sighed and tugged at the collar of her dress. "Why did you have to pick a time where we had to wear dresses? Especially these dresses?"

Tam smiled, faintly. "I didn't know that we would trapped here for longer than a few hours. At least we're not in the ice-skating program again, here we can get something to eat if necessary."

Catherine nodded, then moved to sit down on a nearby chair. Tam joined her, looking around the room. Clarkson and Maverick were standing and drinking, and as they watched Tanith stepped up to join them. As she watched, Gorman began walking their way, then suddenly stopped and jerked his head around suddenly as if he was trying to find something. "Is something wrong?" Tam asked, wondering if her voice would even carry to him over the hum of the programs around them.

He shook his head. "I thought something bumped me, is all. I guess I was imagining it."

"You too?" Catherine straightened. "I wonder..."

**Of course, there's always the chance that we're just imagining things.** All that Maverick had been saying about the possible repercussions had her mildly spooked, so it was entirely possible that they were projecting that into fears of something actually being there.

So of course right then one of the holographic people milling around them yelped and fell over into a couple walking by him.

It was fairly impressive how quickly the 'fleet officers were on their feet. Maverick, as well as Clarkson, Tanith, and Catherine, had their hands were their phasers would be, as well, if they were carrying them. They relaxed almost immediately, though, as the unfortunate couple helped up the fallen man and he was apparently unhurt. He kept shaking his head as he dusted himself off, alternately asking the couple if they were unharmed, assuring them that he was fine, and protesting that he normally had excellent balance, that he couldn't figure out why he'd suddenly fallen over. "It felt as if I were pushed, but I can't imagine how, there was nobody there!" he claimed at one point, straightening his lapel.

Gorman looked, surprised, over at the other officers. "Did anyone else-"

He didn't get to finish the sentence before Clarkson groaned and sank his head into his hands. "The Invisible Man. H.G. Wells."

Maverick scowled. "Another one that could kill us!" Tam cringed when he looked very significantly over at her.

NRPG: Sorry I haven't posted in so long! I've been trying to get things done for school, and that didn't leave much time for RPing. This is definitely an interesting scenario, though, it'll be interesting to see what else comes up!
