Location: JEM’HADAR ATTACK SHIP

Stardate: 2424 [2.8] 0711.0132

Scene: Bridge

Time Index: +7:00

Daniel walked onto the bridge of the Jem’Hadar ship. In addition to Colonel
Maverick, Sergeant Crunk from A Squad and Staff Sergeant Logue from B Squad
were also present. The other marines were scattered throughout the ship to
repel potential boarders, with clusters of marines in engineering and in the
makeshift medical bay that Clarkson had created immediately upon coming to
the ship.

“Report, Major,” Maverick ordered as soon as he noticed the other marine’s
presence.

“B’R’Ik and Hawkins had serious injuries,” Daniel reported. “I can keep
them sedated for now, but without access to medical technology there’s not
much else I can do for them.”

“Are their injuries life-threatening?” Maverick asked.

“B’R’Ik’s is not,” Clarkson answered. “Hawkins might lose his leg however
if we don’t get him into an operating room within the hour.”

“What about fatalities?” Maverick asked, knowing that if they were
successful in their mission, Hawkins would get to sickbay in plenty of time.
And if they weren’t, none of them would be going home anyway.

“Richards, McKellam and Jetril all died,” Daniel reported. “I’ve covered
their bodies and placed them in a side corridor that’s been converted into a
makeshift morgue. We can take them back and bury them with honours.”

“Good work Major,” Maverick said. “What about the other marines?”

“Jarvin, Reyes and Morris are in engineering, trying to see if they can do
some rough patch work of some of the affected systems,” Daniel answered.
“Eton’s in sickbay tending to the casualties and Parker, Jackson and Potter
have formed a roving team, policing the ship just in case the Jem’Hadar try
to recapture her.”

Maverick nodded, before turning to look at Logue. “Are we ready to move
out?” he asked.

“Yes sir,” Logue answered. “The helm’s ready. We have full impulse power,
partial warp power and transwarp capability.”

“We still don’t have aft weapons,” Crunk reported from tactical. “But
forward weapons and shields are both at maximum.”

“It’ll have to do,” Maverick answered, putting on one of the headsets
intended for the Vorta and handing the one intended for the Jem’Hadar First
to Daniel. “Take us out Mr. Logue.”

A few seconds ticked by, before the ship righted itself and started away
from the away. “Detonate the charges,” Maverick ordered. Both MCO and MXO
were treated to a spectacular sight as the array exploded in front of them,
the outer limit of the shockwave just missing the nacelles of the attack
ship they were on.

“It looks like our fighters are still operating at the third array,” Daniel
said, tapping a few buttons on the console and bringing up the long range
sensors. “The PATRIOT appears to have bypassed the fourth array entirely
and is currently engaged in a firefight with ships at the final array.”

“Have they beamed down the other teams?” Maverick asked.

“Impossible to tell from this distance,” Clarkson answered, after tapping a
few more buttons.

The Colonel frowned, thinking for a moment, before giving new orders.
“We’re going to jump to the third array and assist the fighters, before
meeting up with the PATRIOT at the fifth array.”

“Sir,” Logue interjected. “We’re not sure if the ship can make even one
transwarp jump safely, let alone three.”

“No time like the present to test it,” Clarkson answered, tapping his comm.
badge. “Clarkson to engineering. We’re going to be making three separate
transwarp jumps. Your priority is to make sure we get through all three in
one piece.”

[[Acknowledged,]] came the reply from engineering.

“Let’s go Sergeant,” Maverick ordered, looking over at Logue.

“Yes sir,” came the reply.

Location: SPACE

There was a bright flash of light that heralded the arrival of the attack
ship to the volume of space immediately around the third installation. When
the pilots of the fighters and the COUNTERSTRIKE spotted the arrival of the
new ship, their hearts sank. After all, the two remaining ships were
providing them with enough resistance. While they could probably beat a
third as well, time was an enemy that might end up claiming them if the
fight took too long.

Then, to the astonishment of all watching, the new attack ship fired on one
of the two remaining defenders, causing it to explode in a brilliant blaze
of glory. Almost immediately after the explosion, the attack ship closed on
its second target, firing into the weakened shields. A few impacts later,
the shields of the final remaining defender were done. Just a few seconds
later, the ship exploded, just like the previous one had.

Location: JEM’HADAR ATTACK SHIP

Scene: Bridge

{{I am glad you have arrived Colonel,}} the gruff voice and serious
expression of K’Pec on the COUNTERSTRIKE was beamed into the headsets that
Clarkson and Maverick were wearing. {{We were hard pressed without the
assistance you have just rendered.}}

“We’re about to jump to the fifth array to assist the PATRIOT,” Maverick
replied. “Can you handle things here?”

{{With no defenders, we should be able to make short work of the array,}}
K’Pec answered.  {{The COUNTERSTRIKE will meet you at the final target.}}

“Acknowledged,” Maverick said, before closing the comm. channel. “Mr.
Logue, get us to the fifth array.”

“Aye sir,” Logue replied, before tapping a few buttons on his console. The
ship shook violently as he engaged the transwarp and several unused consoles
exploded into flames. As the shuddering stopped and the ship came to a
standstill, the four marines present regained their bearings, some of them
having to pick themselves up off the floor before doing so.

[[Engineering to bridge,]] came a report through internal communication
channels. [[That last jump nearly blew out transwarp, but we’ve managed to
get it under control. We can do one more jump, but no guarantees of what
parts of the ship will be left when we reach our destination.]]

“Well, that should make things interesting,” Daniel commented, scanning the
area. “Also, it looks like the PATRIOT’s already moved onto the final
array.”

“What’s the status of this array?” Maverick asked, looking over at Crunk.

“Forward shields are down, but otherwise the structural integrity is
intact,” Crunk said. “I am detecting multiple human life-signs on the
ground. It appears as though the other marines are there. There are no
Dominion ships in the area.”

“I think they followed the PATRIOT to the final array,” Clarkson speculated.
“The number of ships present at that array is greater than any of the others
previously encountered.”

Daniel looked at a few more scans, before his eyebrows rose up in surprise.
“Colonel!” he said excitedly. “It appears as though long range
communications on the final array have been disabled.”

“How is that possible?” Maverick asked.

“I can’t be certain from this distance,” Clarkson answered. “But it looks
like one of our ships was able to get it with a lucky shot.”

“It’ll take at least a few more minutes to repair that array,” Logue said.
“And in that time, the Dominion won’t be able to get any messages out.”

Maverick breathed a sigh of relief. “That means we’re still in the game,”
he said. “So let’s get going.”

“We can’t get a communication to any of the away teams,” Crunk reported.
“There appears to be a dampening field in place similar to the one we
encountered on the other ground-based array.”

“Take us to within transporter range of the array,” Maverick ordered, before
tapping his comm. badge. “Maverick to medical, engineering and roving
teams. Gather your gear and then hold position. We’ll be transporting you
down to the array as backup. Just as before, we can not guarantee where you
will end up on the array. Once you are on the ground, your top priority is
to find another away team and give them the information we collected from
the other array’s operations centre.”

He waited a few moments for the chorus of acknowledgements, before closing
the channel and looking over at Logue expectantly.

“We’re in transporter range now sir,” Logue reported, tapping a few buttons
on the console he was at. “The away team is on the surface.”

“That gives them seven more soldiers to work with,” Clarkson answered.
“Aside from the wounded and dead in sickbay, we’re the only other ones on
the ship.”

Maverick nodded. “Now Mr. Logue,” he ordered. “Take us to the PATRIOT.”

===========

NRPG: Phew, that was a little convoluted since I had some plot lines to tie
together.

So, basically, the timeline is in and around the +10:00 range by the time
the attack ship with the marines on it gets to the final array, but the
lucky hit on the long range communications system on the final array means
that we have a few more minutes to finish off that last array.

There’s still the firefight going on at the third array, although with no
Jem’Hadar ships around it should be over momentarily, with the COUNTERSTRIKE
transwarping to the final array to join the three Starfleet vessels and the
commandeered Jem’Hadar attack ship.

On the one remaining ground based array, the force under Catherine has just
been bolstered by the beaming in of a fourth team containing seven marines
(you can get their names from the above storyline), although chances are
that the teams are at completely different places within the array just as
occurred with the first ground based array.

So, I believe that covers everything in this post, hopefully without
conflict. I did my best to avoid it, but since the information I’m writing
continuations for is contained within a handful of different posts, a few
minor details may have gotten past me. Feel free to let me know if you spot
anything amiss.

According to Erik, the mission will be ending within a week or so. If you
want to write anything regarding the final battles that are being waged, the
sooner the better.
