"Boom"

(Cont'd from "Beware of the dark")

Location: USS STONEHENGE

Scene: Izshlana's quarters

Stardate: 2.80507.1621

TI: before we arrive at the blackhole.

Izzy tucked a knife into her boot before looking up. "SO I've looked into
the files, as high as my classification access will allow Starfleet has
never come across that vessel or anything even vaguely matching its
description, and since we never got a look at the aliens, well we don't have
any way of looking into those."

Xordin looked up from her desk console and nodded. "Have you spoken to Rharn
about me offering to work?"

"No," Izzy admitted and looked up. "You should speak to Herim about that."

They were quiet for a moment and Xordin eventually spoke up. "So you're
going across to the ship?"

"Yes."

"When we were travelling we came across a blackhole, it wasn't pleasant." He
watched as Izshlana stashed another weapon about her person and then smiled.
"You know there will be lots of structural damage over there."

"Yes and?"

"You'll be in an EVA suit."

Izzy stared at him and then at the dagger in her hand and muttered a quiet
curse. "Great."

"Just thought I'd remind you."

"I'd have figured it out anyway." She muttered back putting the dagger down.

"And you probably don't want anything in there that might damage your suit."

"I got it." Izzy snapped back and removed the sharp edges worth of weapons
from about her.

"do you think the holodeck will be able to make a forge hot enough to work
on?"

Izzy stopped from where she was working on her own pile of weapons finding
things that could be stuck around an EVA suit without causing damage.

"Just build one in your quarters!"

Xordin grinned, "OK see that's a plan."

"OK, I've got to report to the bridge and from there I'll be going across.
Don't do anything stupid."

"Like building a forge in my quarters?"

"That's just daft not stupid." Izzy declared as she left the room.

Location: CENTURY CLASS VESSEL

Scene: Bridge

TI: Following from Margies post

Suddenly the doors leading onto the Bridge made a
hollow booming noise. Followed by some scratching and
another few bangs.

"I think the welcoming committee has just found us."

Izshlana moved, unceremoniously dumping a body from behind the tactical
console she ran her hands over some buttons. "OK tactical has power." She
declared, "Some bad news. Internal forcefields are at 50%"

"Meaning?" Peter asked turning around and looking at Izzy

"Meaning whatever is banging isn't going to be put off for long, forcefields
will only hold for a few minutes." She placed her phaser onto the top of the
console and began working. "I can't reroute any power into the forcefields
from here."

Blinking she picked her phaser up, turned to the door and held the device
ready to shoot whatever came through. Another hollow boom vibrated as
whatever it was bashed on the door. The officers looked from one to the
other as silence descended.

"Um…." Mathew began.

No one moved for a few moments. "Do we have internal sensers?" Peter asked
looking towards the engineering console and where Ronnie and Kiros were
still working.

"Not yet sir." The ensign replied. "I'm working on it."

"Get them up ASAP." He took a deep breath "Urika, Aerdan see if this air is
breathable, I'd like to lose the suits if it's possible." Both officers
nodded already moving to view their consoles.

Izzy scrambled around the bridge until she found what she was looking for.
"OK, we have a medical supply, and a supply of phasers." She checked
something carefully. "Battery power is still fully operational." She claimed
an extra phaser for herself. "Oh and some rations if anyone is hungry."

She ignored the glares at that comment and returned them with a beaming
smile. "What? Death, gore and fear for my life always makes me hungry."
