USS STONEHENGE: CENTURY CLASS SHIP: Various ("Knock Knock")

¡§Knock knock¡¨ (contd-¡§boom¡¨)

Location: CENTURY Class vessel
Scene: bridge „³ Engineering
Stardate: [2.8]0509.1153

As Izzy stood waiting in front of the door, seemingly
impatient to see what exactly it was that was trying
to get through the door, Matthew checked over the
tactical console, Urika and Aerdan were bent over
their tricorders, Kiros and Ronnie were sprawling
inside exposed panels trying to figure out why they
couldn¡¦t get full power operational.

Peter stepped over to operations and tried to bring up
more status reports.

¡§It appears there is internal damage to ships systems
which is why we can¡¦t get full power from here sir.¡¨
Called Kiros as he stood up awkwardly in the bulky
suit.

¡§So the AI won¡¦t work either, great. Doctor, any
luck on seeing if we can breathe?¡¨ Asked Peter

¡§The oxygen content is sufficient and there are no
toxic gasses, I haven¡¦t yet been able to determine if
there are any bound biological agents however. Anyone
equipped with one of the forcefields Ronnie provided
can remove their helmets at least; I wouldn¡¦t
recommend removing the entire suit yet however.¡¨

¡§But isn¡¦t it kinda pointless if the helmet is
already removed?¡¨ Grumbled Izzy even as she
unfastened the clamps holding her helmet in place.

¡§Removing the suit presents exposed skin to the
atmosphere, the field will protect your head but it
won¡¦t protect your hands, or tail. Until i know if
there is anything that can be skin absorbed I
wouldn¡¦t recommend climbing out of your suit.¡¨

¡§The field is going to fail any second, it clearly
knows we are in here.¡¨ Called Matthew from the
tactical station.

¡§Ok, next to the Ready Room, pop the access panel,
bridge access down in to Jeffries tubes, everyone
move, Izzy take point, Matthew follow us out please.¡¨
Said Peter as he directed the others towards the
other side of the bridge.

Their journey down through the bowels of the ship to a
main access corridor was disturbing enough as it was,
eerily quiet to people used to the hum of an active
and full starship there was just something about this
vessel that tugged at the nerves, more so for Peter as
he travelled through the disturbingly familiar tubes
searching in his subconscious mind for a clear
difference between this vessel and the CENTURY beyond
the missing dedication plaque on the bridge.

Luckily they didn¡¦t have to go too far to get down to
one of the main access corridors across the two
connecting areas linking the primary hull with the
engineering rollbar.

There were more bodies in main engineering, from the
uniforms it wasn¡¦t just the engineering staff down
here, there were at least 2 red uniforms present on
the corpses.

¡§Matthew, Izzy see what you can do about securing
engineering, dr I assume you want to look at these
bodies also?¡¨

The two security officers and the doctor all nodded,
Urika moved off with Aerdan, turning to the remaining
two of the team Peter spoke again, ¡§Well Kiros, we
are all yours.¡¨

Kiros swallowed, they thought he was ready, so why
didn¡¦t he feel it ?

Scene: Bridge access corridor

The creature paused in its attempts to break down the
door, the forcefield had collapsed and the door
wouldn¡¦t last long, but it sensed that already the
presences it had smelt on the vessel had moved, they
were no longer here.

Part of its mind was once capable of a different kind
of reason, the same part that knew the significance of
the metallic device that its expanding flesh had
enveloped, a device it knew it had once worn on the
same clothing that now lay someone tattered, the odd
piece still dangling from it¡¦s changed form.

Grunting it smashed through the door and sniffed, it
would follow them and perhaps avoid the others as he
did so, unless these new scents had already
encountered them.

Scene: Main engineering

This time it was Peter and Ronnie that lay in crawl
spaces and such as Kiros directed their efforts from
the central control station.

The main warp core behind them was dark, damage to the
console nearby prevented them from a simple
reactivation, for now, first they needed to find out
the status of the main power distribution conduits as
well as a variety of other systems that would make
restoring power either an easy job or a very difficult
one.

¡§That¡¦s it, the status display is operational.¡¨
Called Kiros.

The other two extracted themselves from their work for
now and walked over to see what the situation was.

¡§Well we should be able to reactivate the core
without too much difficulty; it seems that it was shut
down deliberately. As for the battery power, the
shields are being an enormous drain, which is why I
assume everywhere else is powerless.¡¨ Said Kiros.

¡§What¡¦s that then?¡¨ Asked Ronnie pointing to a
power hotspot on the monitor.

Kiros moved to check but Peter already knew what it
was, ¡§It¡¦s the sickbay, the sickbay has power.¡¨

¡§I can probably power up the warpcore and restore
full power relatively quickly with some help, but i
suggest someone should take a look at sickbay first,
if they kept power there something must be important
and I don¡¦t want to risk it if there is a specific
reason the core is offline.¡¨ Said Kiros.

¡§Good idea, meanwhile I think one of the spare power
modules from the shuttle should give us enough to get
a dump of their logs.¡¨ Said Ronnie.

¡§Agreed, Kiros, you and Ronnie get ready to
reactivate the warp core, I¡¦ll leave Matthew with
you, Doctor, would you care to join me in heading for
sickbay?¡¨ Asked Peter.

Aerdan straightened from examining a body, ¡§There may
be information of use there if nothing else.¡¨

¡§Good, Izzy, Urika I want you to head back to the
shuttle and get a spare power module and bring it back
here.¡¨

¡§Is it a good idea you and the doc going without one
of us?¡¨ Commented Izzy as she gently tapped the
forcefield around her head making it spark.

¡§I know my way around well enough and it seems like
sickbay at least has enough power that I can secure it
if we get any visitors, besides you can come and join
us once the power module is here.¡¨

¡§Okay boss, maybe I can get out of this suit then, my
tail is cramping.¡¨

Peter chuckled as Izzy and Urika began to move away,
the young security officer moving with an odd gait as
she tried to alleviate the cramp in her tail.

¡§And while you are there try and contact Rharn, the
commbadges don¡¦t have enough power.¡¨

There was no reply but Peter was sure they had heard
him.

¡§Coming doc?¡¨

NRPG:

TAG

So yeah er Kiros, Ronnie and Matthew are in main
engineering getting ready to power up the core, why
was it shut down in the first place, clearly the power
was needed so there must be something?

Izzy and Urika are heading for a power module on the
shuttle they used, will they find anything on the way?
Will anything find them? Will Izzy ever get out of
that suit?

Peter and Aerdan are heading for sickbay, the only
real power drain other than the shields, will they get
in through what ever methods have been used to secure
the place? Will going without a security officer be a
big mistake?

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note I have removed Kim and Ran
from the mailing list, they are both rather busy and
dont have the time to read all our posts so can we
please not send emails to them from the STONE anymore.
If any more observers read this and wish to be
removed please let me know.
