"A Trip Into The Dark...."
(Continued from mine "The Puzzle Of Izzy's Missing Arm."
######################
Location: USS STONEHENGE
Stardate: 2.80616.1124
Scene: Corrider
The small *away* team assembled by the turbolift. Rharn looked around, her black eyes resting on each face of the samll group. "Are we all ready?"
Aerdan glanced up from the pack he was double checking, "I'd just like it noted that I am not happy with Commander Aspinall joining us." The Andoran Doctor paused briefly, "He should really be in sickbay."
Peter looking pale and shaky managed a weak smile, "I'll be fine. Besides the closer I get to our guests the stronger the images, the stronger the mental link."
"I'm not sure that that is such a good thing." Aerdan shrugged, "However if you insist on joining us then I *insist" that you remain near to me."
"Alright you are after all the Doctor." Peter nodded once.
Matthew was handing out phasers. "I want everyone armed." He passed Aerdan, "Doctor remain with a Security Officer."
"Of course."
Rharn carefully removed her uniform jacket and tossed it over the back of a handy chair. She reached up and pulled her long hair back into two side bunches which she twisted together into a pony tail. "How is Izzy?" Concern for the petite Security Officer flashed across her face.
"She remains stable for now." Aerdan looked uncomfortable, "Arjan is watching her and will report immediately if there are any changes in her condition."
"Alright." Rharn looked around, "Ready Kiros?"
The Trill officer nodded, "As ready as I will be."
"You know what we need." The Captain's gaze rested on every one of the hastily gathered team.
Urika Shar skidded to a halt. "Sorry there was something that Ronnie wanted me to bring along, she felt it might help Peter and Kiros."
Rharn nodded. "If that is everyone and we are all ready then lets head on down there. I want my ship back."
Matthew placed a hand on Rharn's exposed crimson right shoulder, "Are you sure about bring T'nnent with us?"
"Yes." Rharn nodded, "We have an advantage in that Nocturian's do not need to follow normal paths, but I do need another Nocturian to watch my back. With all the good will in the world Matthew I doubt that you can cling to the ceiling and walls."
"I...."
Rharn paused, "T'nnent." She called her green skinned counterpart back to them. "I hereby invest you with the rank of acting Cadet, giving you the usual blah blah blah, this means that you are also enabled to risk your life for us and this ship."
"Aye Captain." T'nnent snapped off a cheeky salute, "Can I get a uniform later?"
Rharn nodded and T'nnent went to talk to Aerdan. "Happy Commander Aspinall-Boone."
"No but happier." He shrugged and then called, "T'nnent?"
When the green skinned Nocturian turned he tossed him a phaser, "It's set to stun."
"My thanks."
Rharn sighed, "So are we finally ready?"
When silence greeted her she nodded, "Then let us get going."

Scene: Darkened And Gutted Corrider
The door to the jeffries tube was slowly opened and Matthew peered around the slight gap. "All clear." He dropped down to the floor and started to assist the rest of the team out of the jeffries tubes.
Kiros immediately started to pull off the front of one of the panels. Rharn glanced at T'nnent. With barely a seconds beat the two Nocturians had stretched and released their spines and claws. Seconds latter the two brightly coloured aliens had jumped lightly to the ceiling and started to move to the opposite ends of the short corrider.
"I hate it the way they do that." Peter shuddered slightly.
"Your just jealous." Matthew answered softly and moved to his huband's side, "How are you feeling?"
"Strange I can sense them down here but the images are not so strong."
Kiros was working furiously. "Something has altered the way information is being carried around this part of the ship."
"Have they managed to access anything?" Matthew asked, concern for the integrity of the ship.
"No." The Trill shook his head, "They are simply draining energy from the ship."
"How bad is it?" Peter asked.
"The drainage isn't that high, though there does seem to be peaks and troughs."
He had strapped a small device to the side of his head. Suddenly Ronnie's voice broke the whispered silence. **That is definately not Borg technology. Which is a pain.**
"Why?"
**Well if it was Borg we could have countered it. This is something that I've never come across before.**
Aerdan stepped forward and placed a small disc onto the side of Peter's head, "I want to be able to watch all your neural pathways."
Peter nodded, "Just do not intefere with my telepathic cortex."
Rharn and T'nnent dropped to the floor, almost without conscious thought the two Nocturians quickly compared their findings.
"Rharn not many of us can follow a Nocturian conversation." Peter interrupted the two.
"Sorry." Rharn had settled onto her hunches, "Well I can see no dead bodies so whatever is going on down here, the crew are still alive."
"I noticed track ways though." T'nnent added, "Some of which are on the ceilings and walls."
Matthew nodded, "Rharn?"
"We take T'nnents path for now. There was nothing down my way, it was completely shut down." She paused, "We take no chances, anything moves it's stunned and we'll ask questions later." She looked at Peter, "How are you?"
"Hanging in there."
Matthew looked around, "I'll go front, Ardy you're at the rear." With another few short barks Matthew had the majority of the team surrounded by security officers.
Rharn smirked, her canines had dropped slightly and almost looked like fangs, giving her normally calm and composed features an almost animalistic look. "I'll take top and centre." With that she jumped up and her claws locked onto the metal ceiling of the corriders.
"You know that is going to really annoy Engineering." Kiros muttered under his breath.
"That's alright Cadet." Rharn was now sitting in a squat position but hanging upside down, "I'll make sure that you are excused that team." She looked around, "Are we ready? I want this sorted sooner."
