“It's all happening now.” (contd-“Join us.”)
Location: USS STONEHENGE
Scene: Gymnasium
Stardate: [2.8]0704.0945
Izzy settled into the water carefully aware of her missing arm, she pushed off slowly with her legs, using the powerful muscles of her thighs to push her through the water, her tail swished just below the waterline giving her a modicum of balance that might otherwise have been lacking.
Clumsily she reached the other end of the large swimming pool and attempted a graceful underwater turn, it became something of a mess as she twisted and then kicked against the solid wall of the pool. She forced herself back through the water the way she had come with a solid push she was almost half way along the length before she had to worry about using her missing arm to help propel her forwards.
"Izzy?" The voice called out disrupting her concentration and she spluttered, her head and body dipping below the water she swallowed a mouthful of the pure liquid before panicking and trying to kick her way back to the surface.
Strong hands grabbed her and lifted her in one swift movement, out of the water and against the side she had been swimming so close to. She stopped struggling as she realised she was safe and landed on top of Xordin. She closed her eyes, for one brief moment resting her head against the shoulder of Prince Cadrin.
"What happened to your arm?" The voice suddenly asked.
She bristled at the question and lept to her feet in what would have been a graceful move if she hadn't unbalanced due to the missing limb and a misbehaving tail conspiring against her. She stumbled against Xordin as he was slowly clambering to his own feet.
The tall man caught her shoulders and pushed her back slightly so he could look at her, sadly he shook his head as he took in a missing arm, that looked unlike any amputation he had seen. "What is going on?"
Frustration giving way to anger Izzy's skin flushed a deep red. "None of your business." She snarled "Seriously, you're a civilian, we're at yellow alert and you should be in your quarters."
Xordin had the grace to look a little sheepish as he knew she was right but as he looked her over again his eyes widened "Izzy, your shoulder!" He gasped as before his eyes the Alterians shoulder seemed to be slowly vanishing.
The petite female looked to where he was looking and let out a little gasp of panic. Xordin acting slightly quicker than Izzy leaned forwards and tapped her comm. Badge requesting an emergency medical beamout.

Scene: Sickbay
Arjan was made aware of the beamout almost exactly as it happened, he grabbed a tricorder and made his way to where the injured crewman would appear, his eyes were ready for whatever he steeled himself to be prepared for anything. What he wasn't prepared for was the perfectly healthy Atleavkith appearing in the middle of the room, alone, and as he looked around increasingly confused.
"What's the emergency?" The andorian doctor asked his antenna dipping into white hair at this seemingly waste of his time.
"Izshlana was with me, she was right next to me. Her shoulder was disappearing." Almost lamely he turned to the doctor and asked "What is going on?"
Arjan's eyes narrowed as he took in what the other man said, he made to a spare computer terminal and opened a comm. Link with transporter room 1. "Lieutenant Vort isn't in sickbay." He explained as the transporter chief answered the call.
[[I know, we're looking for her.]]
"Looking for her?" Xordin asked,
[[We lost her data sequence.]] the reply came back.
"How can you lose her?" Arjan asked his eyes meeting Xordins as the two shared the same concerned look.
"Can you get her back?" Xordin asked. "Did the transporter malfunction?" he asked feeling guilty at taking her through the transport.
[[We're a bit busy.]] the tart reply came back. [[ we're looking for her.]]
"She'll be fine." Arjan said with a smile he didn't quite feel.
A few minutes later Xordin was still lingering in sickbay, he didn't know where else to go and wanted to be near should Izzy suddenly appear as if nothing had happened.
Arjan was trying to get on with his work, monitoring the biobeds with the unconscious telepaths on them. He stopped eventually feeling uncomfortable by the atleavkith’s eyes on him.
"you're doing no good lingering here."
Xordin smiled a little and answered simply. "I feel like I need to be here." He lifted his hand and rubbed vaguely at the bluey green band of skin that ran across his face.
"Here." The Andorian doctor finally took pity and threw the man a spare device. "use it to monitor the cortical suppressants," he took a minute to explain what Xordin was to look for. "Anything out of this range come and get me at once."
Din nodded as he looked at the device, and then sure of what he was doing stepped away to the nearest biobed.

Scene: Space
The energy forms buzzed from the power from this new vessel, it made them feel much more alive than the last one, it seemed unique, it tasted of vanilla. However good the power tasted these lifeforms were hurting, they were in pain and lonely and the clung out of desperation to this life giving vessel.
Silently they called out to those who could hear them, trying to explain, begging for more to join them, for them to once more become many.
They felt a strange energy surge through the ship, something changed within this traveller through space, one of the little beings shifted slightly, it began to connect. They called out joyously as finally one more joined their fold.
Izzy found herself floating in darkness, small pinpricks of light made her think of starlight, when she stared from her bed out into space. Beneath her something solid and comforting floated and she thought maybe she was in bed, she tried to look to her missing arm, to find that it was more than her arm that was gone.
Her senses tingled as she felt the pull of energy from the warm and comforting form beaneath her. She could sense something within it, tiny minds all thinking different things. Her attention shifted and she found herself engulfed by the hive.

Scene: Corridor -> Cargobay
Painfully aware of several things Matthew urged the others backwards suggesting that Aerdan should try and open the doors to one of the cargo bays behind them.
“Ardy, keep an eye on the Doctor, I don’t want any surprises coming from behind.”
One of his security officers that accompanied them smirked at the comment but either Matthew didn’t hear it or chose to ignore it.
“Only fire if they get too close and remember, these are our people, we don’t want to hurt them in any way but protect yourself.”
Luckily the doors to the cargo bay were not fair away, as soon enough those with keen hearing in the party sensed more of the affected crew approaching from the other end of the corridor.
Aerdan’s unobvious strength was a great help in quickly opening the cargo bay doors powerless as they were. The team quickly began to pile through the gap in to the cargo bay.
With just Matthew and Rharn left the other mutated crew appeared, different to those scuttering along the ceiling these seemed to have gotten paler, their skin taking on an almost translucent quality, they moved with an eerie gait but at a never the less rapid pace.
A few pot shots to either end of the corridor discouraged them enough for Matthew to beckon Rharn through the opening.
As he himself slipped back one of the mutated crew clinging to the ceiling made a dash for the door and slipped through as Aerdan and Ardy slid the doors back together.
Stun fire quickly brought him down to the deck with a thud and they converged, Aerdan shouting for none of them to touch him.
“I have no idea what’s causing this so I want no one to touch him until we have a better idea.”
The Unconscious crewman, upon closer inspection, appeared to have been enhanced with small technological components of an almost pearlescent material.
As Aerdan knelt over the unconscious form his antennae began to twitch. Peter, approaching over the Andorian’s shoulder, got a glassy look in his eyes as he got close to the crewman.
“What is it? Asked Rharn, concerned for the both of them.
Matthew turned from positioning the others to keep the cargo bay secure, his concern for his husband etched on his face.
“There is some sort of field around the Petty Officer I can sense it with my antennae. “ Said Aerdan as he began to run tricorder scans of the officer as well. I am also finding evidence of foreign bodies similar to the readings I got from Izzy’s arm.”
“Peter?” Asked Rharn.
“I don’t know, there’s something... telepathic about him, I feel it like a pressure, there’s no voice though, no images, not even any feelings, just this pressure.”
Aerdan switched the focus of his scans to the crewman’s head. “There is a telepathic field which is affecting the brain, but the brain also seems to be generating or at least reinforcing the field.”
“Correct me if I am wrong,” began Rharn, “but Petty Officer Kell isn’t telepathic is he?”
“That’s correct, i can’t really explain it but his mutations have clearly granted some form of telepathy to Kell.”
Peter, sat close by slumped to the ground barely conscious, prompting the Doctor and Captain to turn to him.
Aerdan’s tricorder waved once more and he reached for a hypo even as he told Rharn what was wrong. “His cortex is overloading, I’m giving him the blocker now.”
It took bare moments for Peter to perk up again although the discomfort he felt at this loss was obvious.
“How do you feel?” Asked Aerdan.
“Headache.” Mumbled Peter.
“Well if it gets worse let me know straight away.”
“Of course,” Replied Peter looking at Aerdans tricorder; “Can I see Kell’s readings?”
Rharn wandered off to check on the others giving Aerdan and Peter time to discuss things, by the time the Captain had returned to them they had a theory.
“We think,” Began Peter; “That the telepathic field is what is causing the mutations, we know that brain chemistry effects the rest of the body and we have certainly seen telepathy influence brain chemistry although never to this degree.”
“What about the fact that the quantum signature has changed?” Asked Rharn curious.
“I believe the same thing is changing that, if we remember one of the creatures moved down to the hull around here and I believe that’s what started the change, the telepathic centres that mutated int he crew have maintained and finished the transformation.” Replied Aerdan still crouched near the unconscious crewman.
“So we shouldn’t be affected unless a creatures moves here again?”
“I can’t guarantee we won’t be affected by touch, something certainly happened to Izzy when she touched that web on the other ship but no, as long as we don’t touch the mutated crew then we are relatively safe.” Confirmed Aerdan.
“We do have a problem though Captain.” Said Peter looking warn still, “I believe what cause my cortex to begin to break down was I had began to sense another creature on the hull, somehow, from somewhere, they just got a reinforcement. “
NRPG: Finally i managed to get this typed out,
Now for anyone that doesn’t like to follow the science, we are safe as long as we don’t touch our crewmembers that are affected and if one of the aliens moves to another sec tion of the ship they will likely become infected too.
Now, more science. As there are multiple types of mutation happening the theory follows with the idea that these creatures cannot control the mutation exactly but instead change our people in to creatures they are familiar with, in essence they are imprinting their universe on ours to try and get more of their own kind, this could well mean they were designed with a sort of invasion in mind, some other race sends them through a blackhole, which may well be a dimensional tunnel afterall, and they then attatch to nearby ships/planets and change the populations giving the other race a foothold in our universe.
The fact they are part of a hive is ideal as when they are separated their drive is to become a hive again in effect making them mutate people.
Of course you guys may think of another end to the theory I hadn’t thought of.
