"Normality?" (Cont'd from "Wake Up") Location: USS STONEHENGE Scene: Sickbay Stardate: 2.80808.1837 "And this?" Arjan asked cheerfully. Xordin rubbed at red bleery eyes and looked at the andorian civilian. "Would be a hypospray." The other Atleavkith stated his eyes unfocusing. "I swear you're enjoying this." "I did tell you last night that we had an early start." The Andorian doctor retorted a wide grin on his face as he waved something else in front of the taller mans face. "And this?" "Would be a medical tricorder." Xordin retorted. "I'm a civilian not an idiot." "Well we have to be sure, you being the naval type." He answered showing white teeth against his blue lips. "And you can't say you told me to get an early night when you were shovelling…" he paused trying to grasp at a memory that was fuzzy through alcohol. "what were we drinking." "Cocktails." Arjan answered cheerfully. "Yes, but which ones." Din repeated his tone lowering as the painful hangover lowered his tolerance to being the butt of someone's jokes. "Oh plenty, you wanted to try them all. I even recall you asking for a "long slow screw up against the wall" at one point." Xordin's eyes widened. "The universal translator did just translate that properly didn't it?" "Oh yes." Arjan answered with a twinkle in his eyes. "The barmaid was very happy to oblige." He watched the princes face go through confusion to denial to pure panic and then the taller man finally shook his head. "I wasn't that drunk." He decided. "I'd remember, how did you get them to serve us proper alcohol anyway?" "You have to know the correct people." He answered with a smirk. He waved as the door opened and his younger brother stepped into his domain. Xordin groaned and ran a hand over his groggy face and tried to smooth down his hair which was spiked up every which way. Aerdan took in the newest member of sickbay with a dip of his antenna and a quirk of his head and then looked around the almost deserted sickbay finally his gaze rested on the two men. "when you've progressed past basic medical implements could you take an inventory of the sickbay stock for resupplies when we get to E4?" He asked politely but didn't wait for an answer as he headed into his office. "I should have saluted." Xordin muttered at the CMO's retreating back. "Yep… That would have helped lots." Arjan retorted with a chuckle and then waved something else in front of the ATLEAVKITH's face. "And this?" "That would be a PADD." Xordin answered carefully. =[/\]= Scene: Budega-Jornam quarters Ardy slipped back into the quarters they were still quiet at the moment although he knew they wouldn't be for long. He dropped his jacket over the back of the setee and headed into the bedroom sliding into the bed made warm by his fiancées body. He leaned over her slightly, watched her breath for a moment and gently tucked her hair back behind her ear before kissing her on the cheek and rolling onto his back. "How was your shift?" Phia asked quietly the sound of sleep still in her voice as she rolled over and snuggled into his side. "Quiet." He answered, "most of the telepaths are off duty still and it's a quiet run back to E4." "Why didn't it effect you?" she asked gently. "I'm probably not a strong enough telepath." He replied and placed a kiss on the top of her head. "Now shush and go back to sleep." Phia hid a smile as she responded. "Don't shush me, does it bother you?" "That I'm not a strong telepath? No, it doesn't." "then what is it?" Finally the Vulcan/Bolian woman propped herself up onto her elbow and looked at him. "What's bothering you?" Ardy touched her cheek, a simple action he wouldn't have dared perform if they were in public for fear of her breaking his hand. "how useless we were, completely undefended, they just came, saw us and almost took us." "But they didn't." Phia said softly. "we're still here." "Yes." Xav'ion nodded but he didn't look convinced. He pulled Phia back down into the bed and wrapped his arms around her. "Now that's enough talk." =[/\]= Scene: Izzy's quarters -> Peter's quarters -> Bridge NRPG: (Stolen from Peter) More and more voices seemed to be being added to those of his children although he saw no one else as he back away slowly from his advancing kids, reluctant to leave them but knowing full well what would happen if they touched him. "YOU WILL JOIN US." (Mine) Izzy sat bolt upright sweat sticking her blankets to her body and Scarlet let out a meow of complaint as she was dislodged from her warm comfortable place on the Alterian woman's legs. She looked around and dragged a robe around her shaking body before climbing to her feet, it wasn't the first nightmare she'd faced that night, it seemed the whole ship was plagued by them, but it was the first that she could be sure of who it belonged to. She stepped to the replicator and ordered a glass of cold water and then took that with her to the porthole in her quarters she stared out at the stars not sure what she expected to see, the emptiness made her shiver a little. Usually the sight of all those little pin pricks of light would calm her, make her feel at home, give her hope but tonight they sent a shiver down her spine. She sipped at her glass as Scarlet meowed and entwined her feline body around the bare legs of the small alien. Izshlana sighed and let her gaze drop to the chronometer, she'd be getting up shortly for work anyway. It didn't take her long before she was showered and dressed and had fed Scarlet and was heading out the doors. It took even less time to traverse the deck and end up outside her direct superiors quarters, she stood silently, her hand over the chime trying to decide if she should alert the owners inside to her presence outside. Before she could formulate in her head what she wanted to say the doors opened and Peter barrelled out fastening his uniform jacket. "Lieutenant Vort." He greeted her with a nod although he did seem distracted. Izzy plastered her usual friendly grin on his face. "Good morning commander Aspinall." He grunted at that and gave a slight nod. "Where you hear to speak to Mathew?" "No sir." She answered with an enthusiastic shake of her head which leant to her short hair bouncing around her face. "I wanted to speak to you." Peter paused and raised an eyebrow. "We're about to enter orbit with E4." "I'll walk with you sir. I'm on bridge duty myself anyway" She answered matching his stride easily despite the difference in height. "So what's wrong Izzy?" he asked as they moved with purpose towards the turbolift "Well sir, you remember when I went into my cocoon and my latent abilities surfaced." "The ability to be taken into other peoples dreams." Peter answered with a nod. Izzy gave a sad little smile. "Well it's been happening a lot recently sir, since the fight, it seems to be a lot of different people having nightmares sir." Peter paused midstride and Izzy carefully looked everywhere other than at his eyes. "I wouldn't normally bring it up, but, well I could do with a decent nights sleep." This time she did look up and grinned running a pale hand through her dark hair." Peter looked grim and then his expression changed slightly. "You've not changed colour once since we started speaking." He peered at her noticing that her eyes were dark as well. "Are you back in control?" Izshlana shrugged her grey clad shoulders. "I couldn't say. Maybe." "Or maybe worry is your overriding concern at the moment?" Izzy grinned at him and then suddenly stepped forward and hugged the startled XO. "What was that for?" Peter asked as she stepped back. "You looked like you needed a hug." The grin didn't slip as she added. "And if you didn't, I certainly did." Peter let out a little laugh at that. "I'll speak to the Phia about the nightmares, make sure the counselling department are aware of it." He shook his head and resumed on his way. "Now lets get the HENGE home, it might do us all some good to feel some sand between our toes." "Can I set something on fire?" Izzy asked cheerfully. "You're asking now?" Peter grinned at the budding pyromaniac "Well Captain Maddie got mad last time I set fire to her beach." "It was awfully close to the trees." Peter answered as they stepped into the turbolift and moments later they arrived on the bridge. "We're approaching E4 sir." Pol'Gra looked up from the centre seat and then moved away towards the Ops console as Izzy replaced the tactical officer behind their console. She looked down at the readouts and raised a small eyebrow. "Sir, there are multiple vessels in orbit around the moon." The security officer looked up as Peter turned around. "Who's?" he asked concern laceing his voice. "They're Starfleet sir." She replied her eyes widening. Pol'gra looked up. "We have incoming communication from the surface." She called out. "On screen." Maddies face filled the viewscreen she had a wry smile on her face. "Good to see you all." She declared almost straight away. "Don't be alarmed by the security forces around the base, they're searching for an AWOL officer they believe might be here." She managed a smile and stared at Peter. "you're free to enter orbit and take your leave on the moon as normal." =[/\]= Location: Undesignated Klingon shuttle Scene: Cockpit "Damn, blast, bugger," the curseing got worse and finally degraded into klingon swearing, the British woman ran her hands over a console checking readings and sighed again. "Damnit." "What is it?" the pale voice of the changeling in her seat next to her made Kat calm slightly and reach her hand out. "Nothing sweetie, you go back to sleep, everything will be fine." She brushed the little girls hair and got a smile from Safira before she drifted back to sleep. "Damn." Kat said more quietly this time, she'd manage to get the vessel into orbit before the ships had dropped into warp and wrap the cloaking device around the small borrowed shuttle before anyone had seen her, however she was loathed to drop into warp with so many other ships around, one was bound to catch the warp signature and blow her out of the skies. And now the STONEHENGE was dropping from orbit, she knew enough to know the HENGE was a replacement for the PRO and who knew what other widgets and doodads the ship had, if it was looking for her it'd find her. She held in a cry of frustration, she'd stayed too long and now the little girl she'd promised to protect was in danger because of it. Feeling overwhelmed she propped her feet onto the edge of the pilots seat and rested her forehead against her knees. She closed her eyes and forced herself to start thinking. == NRPG: OK another instalment from me.
