"A Hiding Place...."
(Continued from Joy's: "Blue and Scarlet")

Location: USS STONEHENGE
Stardate: 2.80907.1855
Scene: Promenade -> (via various) Science Lab

Rharn stood in the shadows, her electric blue hair subdued into a very simple (for her) pony-tail. Her normally vibrant clothes exchanged for a simple black tunic and trousers. Her senses were focused intently on the small table in front of her were T'nnent was currently talking to an operations officer.

Sighing she stepped deeper into the shadows and stalked away, her bare feet making no noise on the decking of the STONEHENGE. The Nocturian hated the fact that she was so insecure. She was busily trying to reassure herself after all she was CO of one of the most advanced ships in the Federation and was confident in her decisions that she made daily and yet, and yet when it came to T'nnent she was as jumpy as a hatchling, as nervous as a Jarax when it came face to face with a D'Reg.

Her silent wanderings were taking her deeper and deeper into the ship, away from the more open areas that the majority of the crew used to congregate in.

Pausing at an intersection, she waited patiently as three of the most mis-matched delivery men staggered towards the crew quarters with a piano somehow hanging between them. Black eyes regarded the trio with some surprise, finally shrugging she turned and walked along the almost deserted corrider.

Rharn knew that most of the other Captain's of the fleet had somewhere that they could go to, to escape and the thought was becoming more and more intriguing to the Nocturian. She looked around herself as she dragged herself from her thoughts and realised that she was near the Science Labs. Making a decision the vibrant CO disappeared into the first one that was empty.

She settled herself at a console and entered her security code. Before her appeared the schematics for the STONEHENGE. Briefly the Nocturian wished the Peter was around with his Engineering skills and then snorted as she realised that the idea of a secret hide-away was so she could do just that and hide.

A clawed finger slowly moved around the graphics of her ship, her teeth worried at her bottom lip as she carefully considered all of the *dead* space hidden around her ship. Finally she tapped her claw on a spot, 'bingo'.

Scene: Captain's Quarters -> Corrider -> Turbolift

Rharn double checked the ruck-sack she had just finished packing. Bottles of water, a small plastic packet of wrapped food, several books, a cushion, a D'zrek (a Nocturian foldable campbed), a blanket and a bolt of strange silvery material. Grinning Rharn fastened her climbing belt around her waist, several Nocturian climbing clips hung from their loops.

She very carefully unclipped her COMM Badge and placed it on the dresser besides her door. Rharn *knew* that they could and would find her if they really needed to but for now it was a symbolic gesture. Without a backward glance she stepped out of her room and into the corrider.

"Watch your back, miss." A very small Ferenghi shouted as he staggered around a corner, desperately trying to keep his corner of a huge table on the same level as the other corner and other side.

A massive Ank’mr’pkrian was calmly carrying the bulk of the wait, an air of intense concentration on his face. The third corner was being controlled by a slender human.

Rharn pressed herself back against the wall and waited for them to pass.

"Many thanks Captain." The Ferenghi called back.

Once the scarlet skinned CO was sure that the corrider was clear of strange moving objects, she made her own way down the corrider, and entered the waiting turbolift. "Deck 11." She informed the computer and waited for the lift to make its short decent down 9 decks.

Scene: Deck 11: Arboretum -> Jeffries Tube

The Nocturian dropped her dark glasses into place as she made her way through the brightly lit Arboretum. Her steps took her along the main path and then when she was sure that no-one was watching she made a detour down an access path which only the gardeners used.

After about five minutes steady walking she reached the area that the gardeners kept their tools and equipment. Completely ignoring all of the various devices Rharn carefully made her way to the jeffries tube access hatch.

A red claw reached foward and tapped in her security code. There was the soft sounds of bolts being withdrawn and then a soft hiss as the air-tight seal was broken. She reached forward, popped open the hatch and climbed easily inside. This jeffries tube opened onto a small area which just wide enough for two engineers to stand upright in.

Rharn grinned and felt herself relax. She shook her head and bit back on a giggle, turning the Nocturian pulled the hatch shut behind herself. It was a matter of moments for her to quickly scale the ladder which led to the main access tube.

She opened her ears and other senses up and paused just before she reached the cross tube. Lifting her head up into the open area she sent quick bursts of sonic waves and the area *lit* up in her mind's eye. She pulled herself upwards and using her echolocation found the hidden access tunnel.

Rharn took a breath and with a flick of her hands, revealed her claws. Her head lifted slightly and again the burst of high frequency sound waves allowed an image of the tube to be formed inside her head. One final deep breath and she flicked a climbing clip into her left hand. Quickly and carefully the Nocturian began her ascent.

Scene: Room

Rharn stood in the centre of a decent sized room. She closed her eyes and slowly turning on the spot got a detailed impression of the room that she had located. The Nocturian worried at her bottom lip and slowly placed her ruck-sack onto the floor, her right hand dipped into the top of it and lifted a torch, with a twist she switched it on. For a human nothing much would have happened then but for Rharn's Nocturain vision the infra-red light she was using lit up the room like Christmas.

She looked at the floor and was pleased to see that it was free of dust. Rharn made her way to the access panel on the door that stood in plain view and quickly made some adjustments to the door and the door panel. Satisfied that she had made this door inoperable to all but the most determined of Engineers or Security Officers.

"Right." Rharn reached up and pulled the bobble from her pony-tail and allowed her hair to fly around her shoulders and her body. "Computer access Rharn Nocturian music, random selection." Soft music filled the room, although to Rharn's much more sensitive hearing there were many different levels to the music.

The silvery material the Nocturian carefully unrolled and then with gently pressure affixed it to the wall. Rharn tapped a minute control panel and suddenly an image appeared across the silver material, after a few minutes it flickered and changed to another scene.

Rharn set up her D'Zerk in the centre of the room, the cushions she tossed onto the bed along with the blankets, carefully she stacked her books next to the bed and nodded in satisfaction.

There was a soft beep and the computer's female voice interrupted the music, [[Captain, You are on duty in 30 minutes.]]

"Thank you." She looked around the room and then sighed, "Well at least you will be here when I get back." Turning she headed for the Jeffries Tube and disappeared back into the gloom.

NRPG: Been trying to get this out for a while but RL has been a bugger the past week or two. Anyways is everyone alright, is everyone still around? I've not heard from most of you for a while, so if you can let me know.
