Location : USS MATAHARY
Scene : Mess Hall
Stardate : [2.8] 1028.0632
Time Index : 0755
The USS MATAHARY had arrived at one of its scheduled stops and would remain in orbit for a few hours as various cargos were transferred to and from the ship. This had meant that the crew would be rather busy leaving their one guest to fend for herself… not at all a difficult task given the young woman's ways.
With her now ice cold breakfast still untouched in front of her; Sabriana had lost herself in the reading of a PADD which contained all available information on the NOCTURA, the race to which Captain Rham Alcedo, the USS STONEHENGE's CO belonged to. The more the redhead woman learned about this race the more intrigued she became at the unique social and physical uniqueness of this race… that she would soon get to meet one in person had only added to her delight.
Having spent the majority of her time at the Academy researching the most obscure examples of Exobiology / Xenobiology had meant that the redheaded woman had an affinity for such investigations, her minor in Medical having granted her an additional angle from which to approach such an interesting subject.
A generous smile formed on the Ensign's lips as she began to peruse the data on the hatcheries, nurseries and the hibernation chambers. Sabriana devoured the information contained on the PADD like a first-year cadet and by the time she had reached the end of the file it had been obvious that the crimson hair woman had wanted more.

Thanks to the MATAHARY's crew having been so busy with the cargo transfer the holodecks had been available to Ensign Starr to further her research on the NOCTURA. As great as the detailed information had been on the PADD Sabriana knew that she would be able to shift her research to the next level if she could immerse herself into this race's culture. It took a few moments for the computer to process the young woman's request but soon the redhead Andorian found herself amidst dark caves of indescribable majesty.
Although she had read the physical description of a Nocturian, the young woman had still felt surprise when her eyes finally managed to pierce the ambient darkness to see a member of the race hanging from one of the walls. The science major quickly reminded herself that this had been a holographic recreation and moved in closer to get a better look at this strange being.
Sabriana found herself carefully scrutinizing the features of the being, her gaze having had a great deal of difficulty to leave the long colourful hair to investigate the Nocturian's large dark eyes. Many times the crimson hair Ensign had to remember that this was not some alien life form but the natural habitat of her new CO, and that although her curiosity had been understandable the Ensign still needed to demonstrate respect in anything she did in this matter.
[[Bridge to Ensign Starr,]] the voice of one of the MATAHARY's bridge officers came, which startled the young woman who had not expected any types of interruptions in her research.
"Go ahead," the redhead quickly replied after she had tapped her communicator.
[[You have an incoming communication from EARTH… it is labelled *Important*,]] the officer explained.
**What is it with 'important' message from EARTH?** Sabriana inquired to herself as she recalled the way she had been called to the Commandant's office. "I'll be right there, thank you."

Scene : Guest Quarters

The young woman had rushed back to her quarters to receive the communication that had been announced, her Academy's and personal physical training having turned the race through the corridors into an almost fun obstacle course.
"Computer… display message for Ensign Sabriana Starr on main terminal," the redhead stated as she slid into the chair uncertain as to what to expect. Surprise washed over the Ensign's features as she saw her father's face looking back at her.
{{Hello Red,}} the man started with as he used his daughter's nickname, one that she had not heard since she had enrolled in the Academy. {{Your mother and I heard that you had been posted to the fleet… looks like graduation was quick,}} he continued with a chuckle. {{Back in my days you had to stand in front of a few hundred guests before you received your diploma… I guess it just means that they needed you out there. Know this, wherever you go, whatever you end up doing, we are both very proud of you and wish you the best. Don't ever be afraid to call and give us some news or even to ask for advice, we are here for you Red… always.}}
The Ensign smiled and fought back the tears that had been threatening to emerge. She had been in such a rush to catch her transport that Sabriana had completely forgotten about letting anyone in her family know what had transpired. The redhead made a mental note to get in touch with her family as soon as she would know more about her posting on the USS STONEHENGE.
{{One little piece of advice,}} William Starr continued after a few seconds. {{Remember to be careful when giving out your opinion to a superior officer… you tend to be a little blunt sometimes…}}
"A lot of the times," the young woman corrected with a grin.
{{Just remember that these people have made it where they are because they have experience, learn to draw from that experience instead of challenging it. They may be times when you will have a fresher view on something, but nothing can compensate for experience out there dealing with the unknown of our universe. Be safe Red… we'll be thinking of you.}}

NRPG…
A little insight into Sabriana and setting up for the big meeting with the CO ;-)
Peter: How do you want me to handle my character's actual arrival? Will you take care of it? Should I do it? Is it better to wait and for me to just continue exploring my little corner of the universe for the time being?
